    Matt Colville’s Strongholds and Followers

One important thing I didn't see mentioned is that they plan to update the PDF after hearing the feedback on it... if you have any feedback, you should go to the Matt Colville Reddit page and contribute.

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

well this is a problem with the qualitty of the guide, and the knowledge of the person writing it, not as much "color grading being wrong".

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

It's totally fine to make suboptimal choices, that is fun and all, but why would you need a guide for that? And as a Wizard, that wants to cast spells as a main option, MCing to rogue is an suboptimal choice.

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

for a wizard it's not a good time to multiclass as rogue. Your rogue gets better with the bladesinger powers, but your rogue powers doesn't make a wizard better in casting spells... if your goal is to be an bad ass caster, why would you MC in rogue? your example gives me the idea you want to...

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

because your argument was "extra attack makes sneak attack better". If you care about sneak attack, maybe you should read the Rogue's guide...

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

Shouldn't you look in both guides if you are sure of the multiclass? When I do a multiclass I normally think first on what is that character focus. In your case, is he a caster first or your focus is getting a mean Sneak attack in? In your example, as far as I understand, your focus is the...

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

If you already decided starting with the wizard the guide will be less usefull for you sure. But that's not because the guide is bad, it's purpose is to help you decide what to do. If your mind is already set, what good there is to read the guide?

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

You keep dealing in absolutes, I'm begining to believe you are a Sith hehe. Being made in a whole package perspective does not preclude the same rating to help visualizing the pros and cons for multiclassing...

Campaign Settings and DM Strictures, the POLL

I believe any non RAW choice made by the DM, being it restrictions, house rules, theme changes should be made clear ahead of time. The game is open to whatever the group feels confortable doing, but for all participants to know what they are confortable using or playing there should always be a...

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

You seem to be ignoring the reasons as a whole and choosing to focus on part of it only. Having a timing guide for multiclassing AND rating every level choice are complimentary. seeing when not to pick a class andhaving a rating of each class level helps the player setting their priorities.

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

Most of the good guides have sections on Multiclassing where they talk about trap "timing" options, like the exemple you gave.

5e Character Guides - why rate all features?

this only takes in consideration single class progression, an that you are reading the guide as you level up. You rate all features because: 1- As Yunu said, every level is a choice; 2- It serves as a guide for when you are choosing wich class, subclass you are going to take. Maybe Arcane...

Dungeon of the Mad Mage and the "Withered Heart (spoilers)

To me it's just a instakill trap. I kinda hate this kind of stuff... I plan to use the empty room next to it to give them some kind of warning, one of the Mad Mage's regional effects making an illusion of the tiefling dying or something like that.

Guildmasters' Guide adaptations to other settings

I believe that Eberron has some really close comparisons, in the city landscape, and the guilds, that can, in some cases be translated in dragonmarked houses: Dimir - Thuranni, Phiarlan Simic - Medani Boros - Deneith Izzet - Cannith

D&D 5E (2014) Enhancing "Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage"

D&D 5E (2014) Enhancing "Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage"

I have a question, how would you manage the instakill trap in the first floor. It seems to be taylor made to make a character fall on it, disguise it as an magic item, put it in a box protected by a trap... Reads like it's a reward, but the item when attuned just.. instakills the PC. I was...

    Revamping the Warlock

To me the big problem (if there is one) with the warlock is the break in expectation. You look at the class table and see a full caster, but that's not really what the class does. The solution to me is to change the presentation of the class, not it's mechanics, which I think are fine. Make it...
