    Sage Advice's ruling on staves

Why not? Edit: Nevermind, I just read the rest of the thread. In case anyone cares about my two peanuts' worth, I agree with Hyp that the RAW (Bow down to RAW! All hail the holy RAW!) seems to indicate that single-spell staves are not allowed. That's a stupid restriction, so it should be on...

    Full attack with thrown spear?

Hmm...that would be a somewhat interesting fighter-type to play. Full attack with spear with the last attack being a throw (when appropriate). Put the Returning enchantment on the spear and go to town!

Casting Defensively: Provoke AoO with Ranged Spells

From another forum I read: (http://community.livejournal.com/dnd3e/376586.html) It was such a strange idea that I thought it would be interesting to see what the good people here on ENWorld say.

FAVORED SOUL: This doesn't seem right...

What's the hardness and hit points of water? Of air? Or can Conjuration: Creation only create *solid* objects?

The Explicatae Incompositae - Being A Bestairy of the Sometime Lords of Chaos

Don't mention it; I'm glad I can help. This project that you've started is both ambitious -- there's a lot to cover! -- and really, really cool. Props and hip hip hoozahs! That said, I noticed another couple of things today: Aura of Unease should probably read "...due to the distraction."...

    [Poll] Rise From Your Grave

I played a (CG) cleric in a game that got up to 20th level. One time - way up at 20th, we got into a BAR FIGHT, of all things, with some surprisingly tough evil things...first thing they did was slit the throat of an acolyte from the nearby LG temple. After the fight, my cleric Raised the LG...

Has D&D gotten better because of it's computer spawns? (balders gate, etc.)

Voted yes. Cross-pollenization between the two - and, for that matter, between D&D and pretty much any other domain that can inspire/be inspired by it - can only serve to enrich the game with new ideas. If the resulting game style seems meaningless to you, you may trust that you are in the...

    D&D 3.x 3.0 Haste in 3.5

Well, let's see how it compares. I'll assume that you have enough spell slots to cast plenty of Fireballs. At level 5, you'd only have two 3rd level spells, assuming a good Int, so you'd have to switch to 2nd or 1st level spells - but Fox's Cunning doesn't help with most 1st/2nd level attack...

The Explicatae Incompositae - Being A Bestairy of the Sometime Lords of Chaos

I suggest 'to bring stability to societies' for the first bolded part...and 'loose' should be 'lose'. Beyond that, interesting thread. I'm bookmarking it, and I wish you luck in this endeavor :) Edit: There's another misuse of 'loose' in Post 8, as well.

    D&D 3.x 3.0 Haste in 3.5

Let the effect be 'allows you to take two standard actions this round, instead of one move action and one standard action'. Add on the usual mechanical bonuses from normal Haste. Then, make it last for one round. Cast Improved Haste, then two attack spells. You get two spells a round for the...

    Club claws and bite

That link takes me to a flash application that REZIZED MY WINDOW (that's a BIG web design no-no), and I didn't have the patience to put up with it long enough to figure out WHERE in that slow-moving demo something attacked with club/claws/bite. Would you care to elaborate on the situation that...

    Swift Action and Cleave?

IRT Musrum: No. The way I picture Cleave is that, as you strike down the first foe, you've lined up the strike so that you not only dismember him/completely skewer him, you also hit the guy next to him (if you lined them up well).

Monk Musings... (not a good reply from WotC)

Thirty attacks per round is excessive - just imagine sitting at the table, waiting for another player to roll all those dice! Then again, pretty much everything slows to a crawl during higher-level combats.

Why do all paladins, monks, and druids seem exactly the same?

Naturally large? The character was human. He did ask for Enlarge Mooch Person quite a bit, but it didn't end up being all that helpful later on in the campaign - most monsters were coming in groups, good enough at grappling that he only had limited success, or both.

Why do all paladins, monks, and druids seem exactly the same?

I saw one played once, and boy, was it painful. First, the player couldn't distinguish "highly exalted" from "incredibly vulgar". A monk who grapples foes while taunting them with vulgar phrases is a playable concept, but as VoP? No. Second, the player had no concept of running a high-WIS...

    The "orc baby" paladin problem

Perhaps, but that has no bearing on D&D.

    The "orc baby" paladin problem

It's in the MM (or the SRD) http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/troll.htm Under Alignment, it says "Usually Chaotic Evil"
