I usually do browse the forums while logged in, but in this case, it had been long enough since last time I logged in that the login cookie had expired (or been cleared; I do that once in a while).

Well, sure, it wouldn't pass off very well in a novel, but I consider that sort of random chance in the game to be one of the draws of the game.

I don't have a problem with a "weak death". If there's no risk to my PC in the game, I start to feel like the game is pointless. Part of the game is risking failure. What I *do* have a problem with is measures to make death *worse*. In a game where you end up dead by rolling a single natural...

Any chance you could build that in? It seriously messes up the site layout (as in, makes it side-scroll by about 30%. It's not quite as bad on a widescreen monitor, but it still induces side-scrolling. Edit: I cooked up a Greasemonkey script to "fix" it for myself. PM me if you'd like a copy.

Does anyone know of any apps for the Droid that would be helpful for running RPGs? I mostly play D&D (3.5), SWSE, and TFT. I've looked a bit, but I haven't seen anything promising in the marketplace. I might be using the wrong search terms or something.

AFAIK it's an activation-type DRM. Every time you install the game, it checks with Runic's DRM server to make sure you're allowed to install. IIRC, the limit is around 10 installations -- so you're unlikely to have any problems with it right away. OTOH, you can't install it without getting...

Everything I've seen and heard about Torchlight says that it's a really fun game that I'd really enjoy playing. Pity about the DRM, though - I prefer to buy my games rather than rent them until the DRM stops allowing me to play.
