Anyone with experience running Warhammer 4e on Foundry VTT?

Soulbound has its own system available from a Cubicle 7 with good support as well. At least a full rules system and I believe the basic box setting/adventure is available as well. Note these are not free, these are the official systems and modules...

Anyone with experience running Warhammer 4e on Foundry VTT?

It’s fantastic. I have core, the starter box and the first two enemy within volumes. Works great. Automation is top notch. Art and text all included in journal entries. It makes running the game a breeze.

What Is Your Favorite Campaign Setting?

Good advice. I have both Coriolis and Symbaroum and would not bring either to the table until all the setting changes meta-plot adventure were available.

    Your Dream Campaign

Player - I want to be a player in a well run, lore heavy Earthdawn or WHFRP 4e game. GM - I want to run a Ruins of Adventure type game as an above ground mega dungeon or Numenera as a setting with a different game system.

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

Agreed. I enjoyed it while I read it. None of it stuck with me long after I was done. In contrast, and forgive me @Reynard, I re-read Dune every year and get something new from it.

    Holler (SWADE) Post-Mortem

Completely agree on the book organization. It’s just not put together in a table friendly way.

    Holler (SWADE) Post-Mortem

Shame they didn't take to SWADE. I really feel like it addresses most of the common issues you have. With that many new player did you use the raise calculator sheet or the combat handouts? I find with new players they help. I'm surprised you had that many lengthy combats honestly. I...

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

Dr. Who, in total is overrated. This is an honest opinion too. Not just an attempt at a hot take. 2nd edition D&D is a hot mess but might be underrated. Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher has one good season.

What Is Your Favorite Campaign Setting?

Aspirational D&D - Planescape. I don’t think it’s really playable in D&D but it’s fascinating to read. Playable D&D - Grey Box era Forgotten Realms. Playable, full of hooks, plenty of room to make it your own. D&D adjacent - Earthdawn great, playable setting with deep lore and rationals...

Pathfinder Player and GM Core Are Now Available

That’s not a bad idea. Run shorter campaigns as seasons. 6-8-12 sessions then switch. Try and tell a complete short story arc. You can always come back for a season 2. You can treat character advancement however you want. SWADE has recommendations for an advancement every session if you...

Probably. It think that would definitely help with some of the yo-yo issues we experienced.

Pathfinder Player and GM Core Are Now Available

Plagues tone has some problematic encounter balancing. It was written while the original PF2 books were still being written and edited. My group found Abomination Vaults to be exceedingly difficult from an encounter standpoint as well. Often we had five players and it the encounters were...

My players roll for hit points. If they don’t like the roll I roll for them. They have to keep mine.

D&D General How Do You "Roll Up" Ability Scores?

My players chose Curse of the Crimson Throne in PF1. They will using a 15 point point buy from the PF1 rulebook. The PF1 APs are designed around that so we might as well use. It might lessen the amount of encounter changes I’ll need to make early on. I’m half convinced high-point point buys...

    D&D 4E Let's Talk About 4E On Its Own Terms [+]

As a series of signposted leveled zones it would work fine. As a random encounter/ procedurally generated game not so much. 4e really want less, more complicated fights. It doesn’t work particularly well with ‘you open the door and there’s two orcs’. It wants big design spaces for the large...

    D&D 4E Let's Talk About 4E On Its Own Terms [+]

My preference is non-essentials but I do use the Rules Compendium and monster manuals from the Essentials Era. Player facing material comes pre-Essentials. I also give players the feat tax math fixes at first level. The offline compendium is updated with the errata and in many cases the MM3...

    D&D 4E Let's Talk About 4E On Its Own Terms [+]

Roll20 has an implementation that works especially with the macro generator that is out there. For automation in Roll20 for 4e you use a lot of macros, one for each power. Again there’s an online macro writer, you input the parameters and it spits out the macro. Fantasy Grounds has a good...
