Pitch me your ulitmate D&D movie

I'm curious to know if Scott Rouse still has his eye on this thread.

Pitch me your ulitmate D&D movie

Wow... that would be the equivalent of making the Spider-Man movie about laying around and reading comic books.

    "The Rouse" revealed!!!

Wikipedia says this about "The Rouse": "The Rouse is a bugle call most often associated with the military in Commonwealth countries... The Rouse would be played to get soldiers out of bed." So, is The Rouse a wakeup call for Wizards of the Coast? Could that be his real job? Does Scott Rouse...

New screenshots of character visualizer, virtual tabletop

I lol'd at this. Neverwinter Nights is a great example. That game had outdated and low-end graphics when it came out, but it traded off functionality for graphics. The game still looked good and worked very very well... That's the kind of trade off I would expect. The Gametable.... uh...

New screenshots of character visualizer, virtual tabletop

One would hope that different people were programming the functionality and designing the graphics. If DDI is a shoestring opperation were the same dude is prgramming it and doing the modeling, then it's not going to work right anyway.

New screenshots of character visualizer, virtual tabletop

I'm sure the hardcore gamers can live with sucky graphics that look over 10 years outdated (that's not an exaggeration btw), but for most of us, I would have a hard time paying $15 a month for something that looks like I bought it off the $5 rack at Wal-Mart. But it's much worse than the...

    Spell-less Ranger confirmed by Mearls

Yeah well... half the things he does in the books, the rules could never give to him. He would have needed rogue levels for one. But regardless of what the campaign setting had as his stats, he has never cast one single spell. Ever.

    Spell-less Ranger confirmed by Mearls

I love Rangers with no spellcasting. Love it, love it, love it! Drizzt never had any ranger spells...

    Gold or Silver Standard?

Well, at current prices, anything except gold is useless to even lvl 1 characters. Why have silver (or for that matter copper) at all if they will never be used? Change the standard I say. A copper piece should be a day's wages for most folks.

The Devil's in the Details: Slavicsek reveals the Pit Fiend in all its glory

I found this a little bit funny. I half expected the next line to read: "2 war devil warriors (level 22), or"

The Devil's in the Details: Slavicsek reveals the Pit Fiend in all its glory

Anyone notice the Bluff and Intimidate skills? I had thought those would be "deception" and "persuasion"(intimidate, diplomacy)

    Sage Advice - multiclassing

I don't like to nay-say, but in all honesty, WotC is starting to make me very worried that DDI will not be able to provide a steady stream of content to make its subscription worth while. And even if they improve what they are putting out, will the content go sour again every time they have a...

    D&D 4E Reinvisioning the Halfling for 4E

Here's how I see it. Halflings wouldn't view themselves as "warrior people" but they are very capable in combat in a practical way. Halflings are very polite and amiable, but if you screw with them, one would have no problem jumping up and sticking their fish gutting knife through the underside...

    D&D 4E Reinvisioning the Halfling for 4E

I can understand this feeling. But really, I shouldn't need to have a halfling drawn next to a human or stepping over a giant helmet to tell that they are small. We should be able to see a picture of a halfling standing in place, yet still be able to instantly grasp the size of the subject...

Yes! Now let's hope that theme makes it into some of the artwork in the PHB1.

    D&D 4E Reinvisioning the Halfling for 4E

Actually the question regarding the art was what had been decided about iconics. The answer was "we haven't even decided yet". That's not finishing touches. That means they haven't even decided what art they are going to use for most of the books yet. Typesetting can be done with placeholders...

    D&D 4E Reinvisioning the Halfling for 4E

I agree with you here, to a point. We all know why halflings are in the PHB. Recent and upcoming movies have made Hobbits popular, plus a certain percentage of players just like to play little people. But even that doesn't really answer your question. The halflings haven't been made distinct...
