    Incorporeal and Damage Reduction?

DR only affects hit points of damage; ability damage is another thing altogether. -Fletch!

    problem with challenges...

Use something that is obviously way out of their league, and see if they are dumb enough to try and fight it. Make it a roleplaying encounter with a dragon, or a death slaad, a balor or whatever. "Hey, you guys woke me up. Leave THAT sword and one of your band behind. A trinket and a lunch...

    Epic Levels start when?

Re: Re: Epic Levels start when? I would probably rule-0 that one, but my current campaign has not reached epic levels. Level 21 is the beginning of epic, and that's that. On the other hand, I dislike the current ECL system. A Genasi gets a few neat bonuses, but other races have abilities...

    Planetouched: can they be raised?

In a more general sense, outsiders can be raised/resurrected with a wish or miracle. Manual of the Planes also provided a spell called Revive outsider, which is basically Raise Dead that only works on outsiders, and is a 6th level cleric spell. -Fletch!

    Yeenoghu as a Demigod

Actually, you were right. They do not stack. My only reference (at work) was a file I had with a demigod I created. A Nightwalker was the base creature, so it had Fire Resist 50 from the Nightshade Abilities, not the divine conversion/template. Sorry for the confusion. -Fletch!

    d20 CoC--a preview of 4th Edition D&D?

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing I'd like to see in 4E from CoC is the more lethal death-by-massive-damage rule. Feat and skill chains from d20 modern would be excellent, too, and I'd like to see the VP/WP system from SWRCRB become the standard. This would fix most of MY issues with 3E...

    Roleplaying my character's stat

The end of the Abilities chapter in the PHB gives examples of how high and low mental stats interact. You character would be slow, but observant, and a good thinker if given time to work on an issue. Charisma also figures in to the mix, too. -Fletch!

    Deepwood Sniper - Keen Edge

All arrows fired by a Deepwood Sniper of the appropriate level (I don;t remember which level) are keen. You shoot an arrow, and it is keen. Kind of like an Arcane Archer's enchant arrow ability. -Fletch!

Can Wall of force be used like this?

For this reason, wall of force falls into the same category as spells like harm - obviously broken, never erratta'd, often house ruled. -Fletch!

    Yeenoghu as a Demigod

Shouldn't he have Fire Resistance 51 for his divine rank?

    Why do you game?

I game because Indianapolis is the most boring place on Earth, and I've had the dishonor of living here for about 8 years. Heck, even being alone on a raft in the middle of the ocean would be a lateral move... Gaming = sanity for I and the poor sould I game with in the AH of the US. -Fletch!

    Do you Houserule Sorcerers?

This is a bit of an experiement for a new campaign. Wizards are relatively unchanged, except that some schools are simply not available (namely those that are available to Sorcs). Druids are also relatively unchanged, but Clerics have been axed altogether. Again, it is a low magic campaign...

    Say it Ain't So!

Paladin 1/Monk19/Something else 10 Also, ring of spellstoring with anti-magic field, then concentrate on grappling. If he is grappled and can't cast quickened still spells or activate magic items, he is shut down. You can pick him apart at your leisure (since you can attack with a light...

    Magic item creation question

The short answer: 2000gp. That's spell level times caster level times 2kgp for a continuous effect. However, it get's a bit iffy with spells that can be expended (like protection from arrows). The best bet is a command word item; that is relatively workable and understandable. This is where...

    Do you Houserule Sorcerers?

One thing we are going to play around with in an upcoming campaign is to limit Sorcerers to a single school fo magic (of their choice) plus Divination. They then get Spell Foc in that school at 2nd, Arcane Defense at 4th, Heighten Spell at 7th and Greater Spell Foc at 11th. Lastly, to make up...

What mods would I make to sustain a long-term campaign?

Slow down the XP gains. If the momentum is too high, the players can get a bit burned out. At least, that is my experience (NPI). Other than that, use whatever worked in your smaller campaigns. Any 'problems' should have shown up by now. Making Tumble and Concentration (for avoiding AoOs)...

Which character sheet do you use?

My answer was not as simple as I expected. I use Mad Irishman's PDF form for my characters, but I find it easiest to to NPCs (when DMing) on a simple piece of notebook paper. I guess a completely different thought process needs different tools. -Fletch!

Return to the Barrier Peaks, Fiend Folio, and Unearthed Arcana?

The original EttBP was a ton of fun. It was just unique enough sci-fi that it wasn't a walkthrough for even hardcore sci-fi fans. But what type of total-paradigm-shift module could they come up with these days? If not a spaceship in the mountains or dinosaurs in the jungle, how could you...
