It's that time of year again- when the ENnie Awards try to cover their costs by holding a series of auctions, the most popular of which are the "Dream Date" series. Nominated publishers have donated a seat or two at their table and some super sweet swag for the lucky winner- and bidding begins...

Seems to me only the Friday afternoon slots are needed. Pick any two hour shift starting at noon, 2pm, or 4pm! (Set up for the ENnies ceremony begins at 6pm, so if you want to get involved, you might want to aim for the earlier shifts)

You don't have to vote in every category, nor do you need to fill out each ballot (especially for the Fans' Choice for Best Publisher, which offers 40 ballots!). A lot of the publishers offered up samples of their work or have lots more details on their web site, so it should be easy enough...

No requirement for the judges to attend GenCon. If they *do* choose to attend and take advantage of the free badge and room, then they have to work a shift at the booth, and are expected to represent the ENnies in a positive and impartial manner (so no wearing product T-shirts).

I don't want to interfere with what is the Will of The People (ie. how people vote), but still plan on implementing a ruling by which at least one experienced and one new judge is in place each year. That way there's guaranteed fresh blood AND experience.

The ENnies do a gold and silver award. WotC chose not to enter last year because of what they call the 800lb gorilla phenomenon. They gave no reason this year. There were publishers who didn't enter this year when in years past they had. Why? I look forward to finding out. There were...

Sorry guys... Due to a SNAFU with the housing bureau, we will not be at the Embassy Suites, and the room we're at is too small to host anything other than sleeping. So unless someone feels like hosting them in their room or fronting the dough to rent a conference room somewhere, all Canadiana...
