Monster bonus damage on multiple attacks?

So the good old days and pcs appearing mortal should be reserved for 1st-3rd level only? Because thats whats happening right now. I have no problem if YOU want to make games more dangerous. But right now by current 4e rules the game is SIMPLY UNBALANCED AT LOW LEVELS. Again, if you want to have...

    attacking without attacking

I'm a fairly conservative DM, but that doesn't mean I'm reaching to say NO. I'm simply interpreting the rules how I interpret them to be intended. And i believe in the "say yes" rule much more tentatively than other DMs. I simply reach to say YES much less often than other DMs That's my whole...

    attacking without attacking

First off, I used the flavor text because someone suggested it, I was attempting to understand the raI understanding of the idea. Second, I did not suggest the second idea. It's not a matter of the swordmage not being able to teleport (he can as a utility power). Third, I'm not...

Monster bonus damage on multiple attacks?

Don't agree all you want, doesn't change the fact that it is pretty clearly a 4e design goal that has failed in this case.

Monster bonus damage on multiple attacks?

"Level 1 monsters should be decent but not overpowering threats to level 1 characters. Rangers at level 1 should be reasonably equal in power to other strikers." This is all well and good in magical fairy land where everything is right with the world but in the real world 4e is just not all that...

Monster bonus damage on multiple attacks?

The idea that monsters get bonus damage on each attack is ok for most monsters, but not level 1 monsters.

    attacking without attacking

Dual lightning strike. And I know it is shown as an effect. However within the effect it says "You teleport 4 + your strength modifier squares and make a secondary attack" My view is that flavorwise it does not make sense to use it as simply a teleport, since the flavor text is "you seem to...

    this is just good strategy.

Charge! Should I be worried about this druid?

I would say I'm about as conservative as they come as for what I would allow for my characters (about half the adv and adv2 is just flat out non-existent in my campaigns.) and I don't have any particular problem with this build, besides the fact that he might find it boring after a while. I...

    attacking without attacking

swordmage wants to use an encounter attack power that says he hits a guy and then teleports. The problem is, there is nobody to attack. Teleport is in the effect description. He has a higher level encounter utility that teleports him fewer squares than this power and I ask you. Was I that insane...

Switching the Role of classes with minor tweaks?

and the warden would get to level 30 with dailies that do 3[W] and +3d6 damage.

Reason for including Endurance instead of just Fortitude?

I think that's a poor idea. Then you just have these 3 or 4 skills that are just clearly better (because people will put points into them because they also increase defense).

Do you *have* to use a healing surge?

then they don't get healed. Helaing-surge-free heals is way overpowered.

More control in controller encounter powers

This makes controllers way too powerful in my opinion. It also kind of screws over classes like the warden, that do substantially less damage than a striker, but have many many powers that have controller type effects. This will not end well. Simply because conditions become way too powerful in...

Switching the Role of classes with minor tweaks?

A problem i see is that some classes simply don't work well for this idea. For instance the earthstrength warden is a defender, secondary controller. But if you attempt to modify it into a controller, he lacks the range necessary to perform the task reasonably. And if you try to make him a...

Improved Initiative is objectively better than Danger Sense

So I think we landed on a quick saying that informs people interested in the topic. "If you wanna go sooner, get danger sense, if you're tired of going last, take improved initiative. If you want to go first, take both."

Improved Initiative is objectively better than Danger Sense

I have both... pretty happy about that. But I do like danger sense more. My own personal experience has shown that the second roll is always about 10 above the first.
