New WoD storyline idea... Thoughts? Suggestions? (My players... OUT)

If you are, or ever have been one of my players.... You should exit this thread immediately Well, this isn't tremendously well fleshed out, but I'm working on it. Feel free to suggest what you'd like. I'm still brainstorming right now. I've got two players I am going to introduce to the...

What I Learned at GenCon 2004

Yes... that's, ummmmm... exactly what I was thinking when I originally posted it. Yes. Indeed.

Regrets of GENCON: What did you wish you did pick up?

Okay, I finally have to ask... what is this Battlebox I've been hearing so much about. I missed it at GenCon

What will you be doing with the new World of Darkness?

I'm giving serious thought to running a game for two of my players in the new WoD. I'm basically planning on handing them blank character sheets, and having them wake up in a crashed car, or some such... perhaps even a crashed train, as the only survivors. They'll both be important people, and...

What I Learned at GenCon 2004

The foam weapons, primarily... The ones you could see the duct tape on. Though there were other things too... It is? Actually, I was referring primarily to the dude from Dawn of the Dead... I actually witnessed him begging some people to come over. Boomer seemed to prefer quiet obscurity.

    ENnies V - and beyond...

Clearly, the only answer to the funding issue is a bake sale. Everyone loves bake sales.

white wolfs new Vampire: The Requiem

Crud... I had a really good, long reply to Truth Seeker, Nightchilde-2 and Psion that got swallowed by the ENWorld gremlins... Here's the short version: Psion: I see what you're getting at. I have a good group who loves to try new stuff, so I guess I don't really understand it since it isn't...

What I Learned at GenCon 2004

If you arrive at a game, and are the only person at the table not in costume, be prepared to be a third wheel Kilts are cool when worn by Scottish Men Kilts are still kind of cool when worn by non-Scottish men Kilts made out of khaki are skirts Masking tape does not a costume make (warning...

The ArtQ / BrooklynKnight Jail Fund!

Just remember the lesson that I learned at GenCon.... the Klingons can only take you to jail if you don't scare them enough that they won't touch you. They're like cats... they play rough with each other, but scare easily and scatter if you look big or make a loud noise.

white wolfs new Vampire: The Requiem

Well, it depends I guess. If I were the GM, and I wanted to run Vampire instead of D&D or something I'd probably tell people I was going to run it. But I have a pretty flexible group, so it isn't an issue. If they wanted to play, but were insisting that I convert it to d20 before running it...

white wolfs new Vampire: The Requiem

I think if you were going to keep it d20, you'd have a hard time keeping it as grim and gritty as it really should be (IMNSHO), but there's no question that it could be done. I'd say make them learn the storyteller system. For us, Storyteller v1.0 was always a good fallback system. We could...

Coolest game/product you discovered at Gen Con?

I picked up Universalis at the Indie RPG booth. It's a great game! Fantastic for nights where you have no time to prep something.

Regrets of GENCON: What did you wish you did pick up?

On Sunday, as everyone was closing down, one of the vendor booths was throwing boxes of Mage Knight minis to people. The guy next to me caught one. He was tiny. I wish I'd picked up my elbow just a little bit higher, and it could have been MINE! :)

    GenCon 2004 Memories

Ditto. Pretty much every time I swung by, there was nobody there. Such is life, though. At least I got to meet some people, and they were all great. I'm sure that's the case with everyone. I'll just have to be more on the lookout next year.
