I would say, before talking to the DM, you'd better make damned sure you have all your facts straight about him railroading you. I ran a story a few months ago where I know my players felt railroaded. Many of the "fantastic ideas" they came up with simply didn't work out. I let them try them...

Yeah, that's how I normally do things, and how I did it this time, but unfortunately I feel the need to bail on all of the stuff I created, but would kinda screw my group if I bailed on my character (long story) so I'm grabbing at straws for some history ideas. But everything so far has helped...
