Where will it be sold?

They do seem to be keeping the 4E practice of very large character sections. It's already on page 104 and *still* not done with classes. Unless, of course, they are changing the order of game aspect presentation. (In 3.5, classes were done by page 60.)

I think it's a pretty safe bet that WotC will outsource a LOT of D&D 5E unless they significantly scale back their offerings. Outsourcing might be much, much cheaper for them - especially if they make their agreements on a % of sales model. WotC staff may focus on rules only while letting...

Since there have been 2 RPGs based on a Song of Ice and Fire, one could always play those if one is looking for that type of game. However, I don't think it would be very hard to make D&D into that type of game without changing rules - a good GM would be able to create the setting/mood.

It would totally depend on what products were made with it. For me, the awesomeness of the OGL was/is best reflected in the products by Necromancer Games and Frog God Games. If the GSL had prevented those products from happening, then I would not have lauded the GSL as much as I do the OGL...

If they do open a license to 3PPs, I think you'll see the established 3PPs test the waters before jumping in. For example, I would expect Green Ronin to make a 5E Freeport companion and see how it does before any other type of commitment. I expect Kobold Press to continue to release product if...

Hopefully they will do something like Paizo did - both a community use policy (for fans not selling anything) and a separate license for those that do sell stuff.

Some were $5.50 then. :) I think I have over 300 just from Dungeon Magazine! (Although it goes down to about 100 if 1 magazine counts as 1 adventure.) I'd count a Paizo AP as 6 adventures. So there's another 80. :)

No, they are only required to open what is already open content. The rest could be closed, if they wished.

Yeah, it's a brilliant move. Now the key will be to create those "attractive" adventures.

Don't intend to buy any at this time. If I were, I'd wait for a later printing that fixes errata. :) But, I'm good for now. If the edition ends up being a hit, I'll wait until 6th edition and then buy the 5E stuff cheap.
