Monte Cook Games Announced Numenera 2: Discovery & Destiny!

If I were being cynical, I would say he's having the kickstarter for (essentially) rehashed material so as to generate immediate revenue without the need to spend a lot of development time/resources. If I were being cynical. :) (Monte absolutely has some very passionate fans that are likely...

Pathfinder 1E Returning to D&D 3.75 er I mean Pathfinder

I love GMing Pathfinder - as long as I have published material. :) I could not imagine creating my own campaign in the system since creating my own NPCs & monsters would be insanely time consuming. I do enjoy playing it, too. (And HeroLab is a godsend...)

    OotS 1062

A new one did post today. However, it's taken us almost 5 months of real time for this battle (although only 14 strips) - which isn't even over yet. (#1050, which started it, was posted 8/30/16) (Feels like 10 years...)

WotC Being Sued By Magic: the Gathering Judges

IANAL (and one can weigh in on this), but it's my understanding that the law trumps a contract anytime. So even if you agree to do something under a certain set of circumstances, if those circumstances are illegal, it doesn't matter if you agreed to it or not - you are still subject to the law.

WotC Being Sued By Magic: the Gathering Judges

Yes. Though IANAL, I can tell you from working a lot with temporary services contracts that when it comes to the rights of workers, there is generally a very high burden of proof on the employer, and the employee will win most of the time - even in cases where you'd think it's a slam dunk for...

WotC Being Sued By Magic: the Gathering Judges

The way we look at it where I work (public entity in the US) is that if you would be compensated in any way, then you are not a volunteer. If they received product for their service, then they have been compensated, and therefore, may have grounds that they were not a volunteer.

Trapdoor Tech's Official Pathfinder Mobile Application

Yep. (Trapdoor hasn't convinced *me* that the product is viable, but apparently Paizo thinks it is.)

Trapdoor Tech's Official Pathfinder Mobile Application

The interesting thing to me is that Paizo has licensed it, which means Trapdoor has convinced Paizo that the product has potential.

    Pathfinder News From GAMA

No thanks to Pathfinder 2.0. I'd rather they do Pathfinder Unchained 2 if they want to suggest any changes to the base game. Now, I do think there could be improvements to the system, but not so much that I'd want to spend the money for a whole new edition. I think my perfect game lies...

I'll pick up the Pathfinderized CotCT. No need for the rulebook reprints, though.

Can Wizards Avoid Another OGL Glut?

Really, I don't think WotC cares at this point. "A few years of profitability" is likely all that matters with regard to the DMs Guild. The Brand is what matters longer term - in licensing.

Can Wizards Avoid Another OGL Glut?

Regarding print glut, Kickstarter (and sites like it) are a wonderful way to bring 5E print products to life. It gives a publisher a measuring stick of how much demand exists for its 5e products from that publisher's fans. And since money is already in the bank when publishing takes place, it...

    Pathfinder 1E Mythic Adventures. Huh?

I've said it elsewhere, but I'm quite disappointed Paizo never did epic level rules. I am no fan of the mythic rules, as they turn the game into a superhero-like game, rather than the more traditional fantasy gaming I enjoy. While they still could do them, of course, it does not seem like any...

It's Nearly Time For PATHFINDER HORROR

I think you have to view all the Pathfinder options as a supercenter-like store. You're not going to need everything in the store, but should you be looking for a particular thing, you'll probably find it. That said, the downside to it is that it's impossible (well, for me anyway) to have...
