D&D 5E (2014) Best on screen adaptations of the Fighter class

This is an area where cinema and literature- even the literature that inspired the game-just don't match up all that well to D&D. Film/TV/Literature doesn't have system mechanics that rewards the fighter for wearing a steel garbage can

The Krich. That's where I would start.

D&D General Companies Cut Ties With Judges Guild After Owner's Racist Posts

Racism/Anti-Semitism, etc, were around long before political partys and their lines. It exists on both sides of the aisle folks. Back to the crux- Has Bledsaw had any response to all this? I don't Facebook.

    Bronze Age Fantasy

I found my copy of the quick start as well. It looks like the company no longer offers it for some reason so I didn't want to post it as an attachment here. I've got a hankering to run it- I'm digging the system mechanics. For those who may be curious about the game You have an Score for...

That work has nothing to do with the Son/Current Owner of JG. Enjoy it.

D&D General Companies Cut Ties With Judges Guild After Owner's Racist Posts

I pretty muchown all the JG stuff I want to own- in PDF anyway, sold my print copies ages ago. But this probably is the very end for seeing ANY further Judges Guild products (unless the company is sold) including reprints- which is a real shame. There are some real gems (and some garbage) in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Mythological Figures: Captain Nemo

Took me years as a teen to get halfway decent at playing this*- Now that I'm old I can barely fake my way through it. Sorry, it was the very first thing I thought of. Excellent job at statting him out, BTW :) *

D&D General Companies Cut Ties With Judges Guild After Owner's Racist Posts

Very disappointing. I personally thought he was a doing a crap job with his Dad's company and products. Looks like he's doing a crap job at life too.

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

OH FYI for all- Great series of articles here re: RPGing in ME (this came out prior to AIME, I believe). There are 4 or 5 of them. Links to following articles are at bottom of each page Playing D&D in ME-

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

This is the headspace I am in as well- I would say, ToR/AIME do a fine job of emulating the style of adventures/journey that Bilbo & the Dwarves, as well as the Fellowship went through. In emulating the good Professor's work there is no doubt the C7 systems win hands down. But that's not...

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

I actually prefer the timeline the majority of MERP products were set in- Make the PCs the Heroes of that Age, instead of setting it closer to Bilbo's finding of the One Ring and the War for it-where everyone knows the real heroes will be doing the greatest deeds shortly thereafter. Star Wars...

D&D 5E (2014) Do you know the feeling of de-feat? (Playing a featless game.)

This is where my headspace is at. 5E sans feats and MC* sits in that "sweet spot" between T/OSR versions of the game, and the nuttiness of 3E/4E and PF **. This "sans options" ruleset is where 5E is strongest . If I/we want "more", I'll go elsewhere for that-4E, 13A, PF2 maybe for the future...

D&D General Was The Witcher Inspired by an AD&D Campaign?

That's the feeling I'm getting here. It seems a bit much to have two articles in such a short period of time about it, unless I am missing something.

D&D General Was The Witcher Inspired by an AD&D Campaign?

Why the need for two articles trying to connect The Witcher and D&D? What does it matter?

Pathfinder 2E Play report (Extinction Curse spoilers)

Yeaah, I'm thinking PF2 is going to be the polar opposite of 5E when it comes to how deadly game play is. Does PF2 have a low level equivalent of revivify?

Beginning to Doubt That RPG Play Can Be Substantively "Character-Driven"

Having only read the OP- "Books are Books. Games are Games." That's an old, old magazine article in The Dragon from the 1970s. Still worth a read today.

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

My 2 clacks.. ICE/MERP held the license the longest by far : 82-ish for the first ME universal system supplement, then '84 for MERP itself and held through 1999. And produced the most amount of material by far. And disregarding whatever one feels about the system itself, the source material...

    Bronze Age Fantasy

Have not played it, but there is this... Blood & Bronze I think at one point they had a freebie preview- I can't seem to locate my copy though (different computer). I believe it is D6 dice pool based. I think that with some tinkering to make it more heroic- Various versions of RQ work...
