Pathfinder 1E Are demons and devils too similar?

Also, as far as I'm concerned, if something is a being of elemental destruction, then they're simply an evil elemental. No need to shoehorn that into the whole "D"-bacle of Outer Planar Evil.

Pathfinder 1E Are demons and devils too similar?

I really, really disliked what 4E did to the inner and outer planes. To me there is a world of difference between Demons, Devils, Daemons/Yugoloths, and the heretofore unmentioned Demodands. The main difference being in how they spread evil. Devils corrupt, Demons destroy, Daemons/Yugoloths...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

You assume (incorrectly) that I don't have a problem with THOSE misappropriated terms, either. I cannot tell you how much it bugs me that "lycanthrope" is used as a catch-all term for all therianthropes. That said "Tiefling" is doubly offensive to me as it was a very specific word that was...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

I just like the Planetouched. And a Hound-Archon-descended Aasimar would be cool as far as I'm concerned. For that matter, having rules for specific outsider-descended Planetouched would be nice. Of course, it may be wholly unnecessary with the new system. I can't wait to see the Monster...

    D&D 5E (2014) Necromancer Games - 3 5E books announced!

Merric — You are one of the gamers that I've always (since 3.0, if I recall correctly) seen slinging about your opinion on things. We don't always agree, but I always respect your presentation. I was more than pleased when I saw how soon you pledged to our Kickstarter! "Cheers" back atcha!

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

Thanks for the fill-in info, KM. I knew about the 2e/3e Tiefling and I wish that the 4e Tiefling hadn't usurped the original's name. :.-(

It would! And there should be one like that. Aasimar are no more tied to being Good than Tieflings are tied to being Evil.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Anyone Unhappy About Non-LG Paladins?

Again, you're imposing this "Chaotic Good = Antiestablishment" bias. you are focusing on the Chaotic. Since you refuse to even see what you're doing I will leave this discussion.

    D&D 5E (2014) It's Dwarfy McDwarferson from the Player's Handbook!

Yeah, it would be cool to get a page from one of the races not in the Basic PDF.

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

The only reason Angels are dull is because they haven't been written up properly. It's the short-sightedness of the writers who don't use the suggestions from your third paragraph that supports the common misconceptions you mention you second paragraph. And yes, they would still be Aasimar...

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Anyone Unhappy About Non-LG Paladins?

Why do LG paladins have focused fight evil powers? Because they're GOOD. They don't have powers that force people to line up like good little soldiers, do they? No. Because GOOD fights EVIL. You are focusing far too much on that word "chaotic". From the Basic PDF: "Chaotic Good (CG)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

Hmm.. needs a better name than that. "Mongrels" has a pretty negative connotation attached to it. I would go with "The Tainted" or something of that sort, myself.

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Races

Now that it's been brought to my attention that the "Tiefling" race in question will most likely be the 4E version, (one that breeds true with huge horns and cloven feet) I'm kind of glad that they didn't make an Aasimar version of that.
