I really, really disliked what 4E did to the inner and outer planes. To me there is a world of difference between Demons, Devils, Daemons/Yugoloths, and the heretofore unmentioned Demodands. The main difference being in how they spread evil. Devils corrupt, Demons destroy, Daemons/Yugoloths...

I just like the Planetouched. And a Hound-Archon-descended Aasimar would be cool as far as I'm concerned. For that matter, having rules for specific outsider-descended Planetouched would be nice. Of course, it may be wholly unnecessary with the new system. I can't wait to see the Monster...

Thanks for the fill-in info, KM. I knew about the 2e/3e Tiefling and I wish that the 4e Tiefling hadn't usurped the original's name. :.-(

The only reason Angels are dull is because they haven't been written up properly. It's the short-sightedness of the writers who don't use the suggestions from your third paragraph that supports the common misconceptions you mention you second paragraph. And yes, they would still be Aasimar...

Hmm.. needs a better name than that. "Mongrels" has a pretty negative connotation attached to it. I would go with "The Tainted" or something of that sort, myself.

Now that it's been brought to my attention that the "Tiefling" race in question will most likely be the 4E version, (one that breeds true with huge horns and cloven feet) I'm kind of glad that they didn't make an Aasimar version of that.
