According to that text, it improves healing. I could see an argument that there is nothing there to improve.

That's a very interesting approach. IMO the use of wraithstrike is well worth giving up 1 BAB (Battle Sorc 4), but if you don't intend to rely on that spell then I can see efficiency arguments.

I believe you have answered your own question - yes. It is still treated as a third level spell. It just takes up a higher level slot due to metamagic. Also, in answering your question I assumed you meant "affect," since to "effect" the fireball would imply the rod is casting it. ;)

I assumed that he was looking for existing feats because he posted in the Rules (not House Rules) forum. But you seem to have a pretty solid idea of how to house rule more ascetic feats. I don't think it's strictly necessary - just use Snowflake Wardance.

Thanks for the tips! I recall the SpC spell, as it "wipes away disease, poison, and negative levels," but I worry about mixing immobility with what is essentially a stealth druid. DSS is a rogue/druid prestige class that advances wildshape slowly, casting 9/10, and sneak attack very slowly...

Lots of classes/feats grant Fast Healing. Any warforged mage or artificer can use repair construct. I'm really not seeing what it is that you're having trouble with - there ought to be plenty of options.

Also, I'll happily read tips on spells to keep in mind, epic spell design suggestions, or maneuvers from Bo9S to use. :D So far it's mostly Shapechange, Moment of Prescience, and Shambler. I like Elemental Swarm, with divinations to get the timing right, but those sometimes don't work . ...
