    MurderHobos

First time I heard it, I busted out laughing, a true "lol". And partially at myself, since I'd be happy to play in a "murderhobo" campaign if that's all that was available despite preferring story, characters, goals, etc.. It's truth that it's a gaming style many groups start with and some...

Pathfinder 1E Tome of Horrors 4

Do I have more monster stats than I could ever use? Yes. Do I enjoy reading new ones anyway, even if I know I'll never use them? Yes again. Bring on ToH 4!

Pathfinder 1E Sorcerer/Oracle/Mythic Theurge? Anyone tried it?

That's what happened to me, manobarbs! I just got my MT to ninth level, then two of the players in the group that were dating broke up, somebody got a weekend job, I and a couple others moved, still in the same metro area but further away and very inconvenient locations, and it all just fell apart.

Pathfinder 1E Having trouble with a game I'm running

... and Burlew's rework is so much better than the original rules any way, as long as that's been brought up. And if you think making someone like you is better served by the original rules and Burlew's take is best for making deals, you can use whatever you think fits the situation. I will...

Pathfinder 1E Need tips & info about Vault of Larin Karr and Lost City of Barakus

Wow, it's been a while since I ran VoLK, I honestly do not remember at all what I did to get it kicked off. I know they were talking to the local lord pretty early on, and he did toss'em a few plot hooks over time. Yeah, boringly standard procedure, I know. We did have fun with the adventure...

    Pathfinder 1E Fighting a Vargouille

Wait -- looking at that, if a character is affected by the poison, it's "cure 1 save". But once they've failed it initially, since the frequency is once, the effect is permanent? Or at least until a Neutralize Poison is cast on them?

    Pathfinder 1E Kid-Friendly Adventures

And "Crown of the Kobold King" is something of a sequel to "Hollow's Last Hope" in that it takes place in the same area anyway -- so that's a good one to point to, in particular.

Pathfinder 1E Dming Pathfinder for the first time.

Absolutely figure out what your comfort zone is and stay in it; that's good advice for any GM no matter the game or the GM's experience with it. Any time you're not sure, err on the side of caution. Also, as has been said, know your player's PCs. Read up on all their Feats, Skills, Special...

Anthony's power was also a lot more potent than the wish spell; he was, indeed, effectively a god.

Pathfinder 1E Does Detect Thoughts break Invisibility? When?

The deal is, I think, that the word foe implies intent, so when applying the RAW you need to factor that in. Those saying intent is important are right, it's there but just not spelled out. Imagine this scenario: Wizard turns Rogue invisible. Rogue comes up to Sneak Attack, but Enemy Caster...

Pathfinder 1E Does Detect Thoughts break Invisibility? When?

Finding an enemy via the casting of a divination is a result of the spell. For that result to then have results for the casting itself is a reversal of causality. So I'm gonna say you stay invisible.

    Improving a Dragon's DR

Oh, they do. 3.5 introduced a lot of conjuration spells that provided damage, though (the various "orb" spells in particular) and since they created the thing and then you nonmagically attacked with it, there was no SR -- while an evocation would create and apply in one operation, so the...

Rules, Rulings, and the Paradox of Choice

I think some of what your saying is central to one of my biggest frustrations with the naysayers over third edition of D&D, lo those many years ago. I lost track of how many times on these boards I would see someone complain something to the effect of "It's just a combat system! There aren't...

Is Time Travel (going backwards) Possible?

And again, I get that ... I guess what I'm saying is that it's my understanding that physicists don't think they have enough info to unify description and explanation into one thing on this issue. I'm one of those guys who reads a lot of lay science books and wishes news media did a better job...

Is Time Travel (going backwards) Possible?

Right, but isn't that more a description of the situation than an explanation for the effect? "Oh, look, there's a repulsive effect adding up over large distances that is unnoticeable at (cosmic scale) small distances." And since that's work, there has to be an energy responsible because the...

Is Time Travel (going backwards) Possible?

Not so much "it's magic" but my understanding is that the reason it's called "dark" and put in quotations like that is that nobody really knows for sure what it is. That's what my layman's/crackpot hypothesis addresses, although even if there is something to it I'm sure it would have...
