Is Time Travel (going backwards) Possible?

I have this hypothesis, that I'd love to talk to a qualified physicist/cosmologist about someday, regarding a possible explanation of the increasing rate of the expansion of the universe. If that idea of mine is even close to right, no travel back in time at all, no how, no way.

Pathfinder 1E Displacer Serpents and Lightning Bolt

Yeah, when you occupy a 5 ft square in 3e/Pf, it doesn't mean you're a 5 foot cube. Check the "squeeze" rules of movement, for example, or even the fact that you can move through an occupied friendly square. Even if you apply the 2e rule, it doesn't mean you aren't still in the square.

People you like that you've never met

I saw a story in the newspaper once about a woman working in the men's department of a Macy's store in New York, I think it was. She was refolding clothes that people had been trying on to replace them on the racks. The store's background music was playing the song "Can't Buy Me Love", and she...

Adapting Burnt Offerings for 4th level start

Good point, Crothian. I noted myself as I was looking it over that the adventure tells you to have the PCs talk to the townfolk to get them invested in the location, but at least 9 out of 10 gamers are just going to be asking where the goblins are after the first raid.

Adapting Burnt Offerings for 4th level start

You might consider not changing it at all. Sure, they'll steam roll the first chapter, but sometimes some players like to have an easy one occasionally. So that would depend on your group. Or just double the numbers of the grunts. If it says 4 goblins in a spot, make it 8. Fourth level...

    Pathfinder News: Sale at Paizo.Com

Worked out very nicely for me. Picked up Adventure Path stuff to the point where the only things in the series that I won't have when the order arrives will be some out of print Rise of the Runelords installments (that aren't so needed with the new hardcover out) and Kingmaker 2-6. That put me...

    Pathfinder Review: Advanced Race Guide

I have the book and found it enjoyable, but even as I took it off the shelf at the store I was a little biased against it simply because I know this sort of reference encourages one of my least favorite things about D&D and it's derivations since forever, which the OP calls "The Menagerie...

    Ranger Design Goals

Truth indeed. Pathfinder expanded it to having the choice of single-weapon-used-in-two-hands and the old "sword and board" options, but I still don't see what's "rangery" about it. Sounds a lot more like a Fighter thing, don't ya think?

    Words are hard!

How many 3e players pronounce blaggard as "Blackguard" just because it was spelled that way? I did, originally.

    Words are hard!

At least one person I used to play with pronounced it "Vinegar Lady".

... and I tend to think "peanut butter" when I hear that word. Or at least I did.

    Words are hard!

In that spirit, as per Fifth Element's point when he quoted that post, I shall from now on refer to said city as "Throatwarbler mangrove".

    Words are hard!

Gaol took me a while to figure out, it's been long ago enough that I don't know where I first ran into it or how long I was wrong about it or how I did finally catch on. I know "mee-lee" is wrong, but I don't like the correct version. Bad allergies have my sinuses and such usually messed up...

    Words are hard!

Isn't that supposed to spelled socce ... kidding! Kidding! And, more seriously, given how willingly and intentionally ignorant of America sports I am, good luck with any hope of me knowing about teams outside of our borders. ;)

    Words are hard!

Years ago, I corrected someone who used a soft c when saying "Celtic". She told me she knew better, but since most people didn't, she used the improper form so as to be understood. "Circe" and a lot of other Greek words with "c"s will probably have to be corrected individually the same way.

    Words are hard!

Are there still people out there who pronounce "Celtic" with a soft c to refer to anything other than a basketball team?

    It's "Welsh" :) And isn't that a boy's name?

    Words are hard!

That is the correct way to pronounce it if you're going to spell it like that. The way you're "supposed to" pronounce would be spelled "Sighil". It's not my fault that The Lady of Pain is apparently illiterate.

D&D Next Playtest Package Questions Answered! (Mike Mearls, Jeremy Crawford)

This has been what I've wanted to see for decades now. For exactly this reason. Call the unit a "yom" (Yard Or Meter) and say it's the unit of measure in Greyhawk/The Forgotten Realms/Golarion (what's that?). The approximate 10% difference between Yank and European is less than the margin...

    Playtest Package Contents

My annoyance is not with having to create an account. It's with being required to make an account, but not being allowed to. Specific -- I'm required to agree to terms of service, but it refuses to show them to me. And then I can't get any further, not having agreed to ToS.
