    2007 ENnies Nominees - announced!

Additionally, if folk want to become more familiar with a lot of these RPG.net has a bunch of reviews. I've even written detailed reviews of a few of the nominees, such as: Spirit of the Century Faery's Tale Dictionary of Mu The Esoterrorists Hollow Earth Expedition Helios Rising Conspiracy X...

    Whatever happened to Ken Hite?

Ken's Out of the Box column continues, it's just that that particular listing doesn't update itself any more. Here's a link to his April 2007 Out of the Box. It's probably easier to keep an eye on his livejournal to follow the column these days.

Eberron - Why no regional feats?

I could definitely have gone for regional feats in Eberron.

Dex bonus to hit AND damage?

My thoughts are the same as ogre's. Dex is already a powerful stat for most modern games and really doesn't need the boost.

Defining Terms: How to differentiate between various flavors of d20 D&D

I think you're best off being specific, given how much variation exists between games using a d20 resolution mechanic.

    I'm burning out, again....

Excellent advice. Take a break. Play instead of DM, perhaps with a new group. Or just take the time to enjoy other hobbies for a few months and then decide if you want to continue DMing for these folk.

    Other Game Systems

You'd probably be better served looking through an online RPG store and then posting questions about specific games. You might want to consider looking at reviews of non-d20 games to get a better feel for whether the game is catering to what interests you. RPGs are very, very broad and cover...

Any chance of front page links for non-d20 reviews?

If there isn't, no big deal. I've been considering cross-posting more reviews, but where the review doesn't even get a front page link it doesn't seem like it's worth the time to change formatting and the like. I recognize EN World is a d20 site, but sometimes the fans seem to represent it as...

How many sessions do you give a new game?

It's not about finding all the flaws in the system, for me, but having a good time and getting to experience something new. One session is fairly standard, as I tend to be playing more small press RPGs these days and they're often built to be played in a single session with no problems.

    Zorcerer of Zo

In Short The Zorcerer of Zo (hereinafter “ZoZ”) presents a fantastic world of adventure inspired by the Wizard of Oz, classic fairy tale stories, and animated cartoons. Living toys, talking animals, bumbling wizards, and other characters inhabit a world of adventure where even mundane every day...

    Player Handouts

I do it for just about every game. Rules summaries, system explanations, special rules for the campaign setting, discussion of the setting, major game themes - the works. You need to know your players to really figure out if the work is worth it. Most players I've had read the thing once and...

    2007 Judge Selection

I also don't have concerns about the time :) I think all the nominees were made clear that it was going to be a very time consuming activity.

    2007 Judge Selection

I agree 100%, my thoughts as well upon reading the list. I think it's a good list. If I'm one then I certainly wouldn't mind spending time at the booth and otherwise supporting the awards. I'd be willing to bet that most or all of the nominees would be happy to help.

    2007 Judge Selection

I'm not so sure that telling folk the whole thing is about appearances, and not actual ability, will fill anyone with confidence in the credibility of the judges :(
