    Customising E-tools

Glad you liked PCGen Their web host provider's data center got hit with the Worm from the Deep, and hasn't recovered yet. I don't think its for sale anymore, but I could be wrong. The only thing that's been said is "future considerations" on the part of WotC. From folks I've talked to, it had...

    PC Gen data sets

And I've said it before, YMMV on data entering. I don't find PCGen's method cumbersome, but I have been doing it since the 1.4.x days. We also provide documentation on how to enter items.

    ETools Data Sets

I'm pretty sure the EULA doesn't allow that. The EULA. You've lost me. Do you have the money to fund a legal campaign against Hasbro? I don't. And thank you for your insults. They've been greatly appreciated.

    PC Gen data sets

All the PCGen data monkeys typically work on things that interest them. Though a few "squeaky wheels" have made enough noise for a source to get added. :) Alpha means they haven't been thoroughly tested. You can still use them though. We ask the publishing house if we can do datasets based...

    ETools Data Sets

Similar questions have been raised on CMP's boards. From what I recall, something like this is not allowed. WotC considers this transfer of rights a sale, and no one currently has the license to sell datasets based upon WotC's IP. There's also the logistics involved in removing the d/l rights...

    PC Gen data sets

No, its not. Not one silverback is an agent of CMP. Which is part of the evolving code/data structure to handle new rule changes We looked at it. It would've necessitated completely scrapping the code to support it.l PCGen is not controlled by CMP. They are 2 separate entities. Hunh? Bryan...

What's the best NPC generating software outthere?

Unfortunately, no one, currently, has the license to distribute WotC closed-content material anymore. Anyone that does RPG software for the D&D market (d20 or OGL) is limited to what has been produced as OGC.

    PC Gen data sets

Excuse me? PCGen still exists, so I don't know where you get "there was once". It still is open. A private business was created by some of the people who were involved on PCGen's BoD, that is true. Are you referring to PCGen's *.lst format or the Access Database format that eTools uses...

And that's your opinion of them. I don't find them that dificult. Once again, YMMV.

Have you tried the GMGen plug-in of PCGen for ingame? I haven't because no one in my group has a laptop. I know some of our users have, and they like it.

    PC Gen data sets

PCGen was working on this assumption, yes. Wrong. PCGen and WotC talked at GenCon '02 to discuss our assumption that we were operating under fair use. WotC informed us that we were infringing upon their IP. CMP was born later that year, and was granted the license in early '03. You didn't have...

    HeroLab

From reading their boards, I don't think they can handle templates yet, but that's in the works. PCGen can currently handle templates though. :)

    'High level' horses?

Have you looked at RPG Object's Legends of Excalibur? They have a mechanic in there to create good and bad quality horses.
