If you're looking for a book that's one cohesive line of thought, yes, I agree with that. But, if you look at it as a toolkit, then its very good. YMMV.

There was some thought earlier this year that Spectaculars may have been cancelled/postponed because Hasbro is picking up a Marvel license starting 2007 which includes role-playing games.

My group saw it the night it came out. We enjoyed it as a nice diversion. The D&D commercials were funny, especially the rule about "don't let the cleric die" and then he gets eaten.

I'm working my way through the Horatio Hornblower series. I got the 8 disc series off of Netflix, liked it so much, that I had to read the books it was based on. They're fairly quick reads, but very entertaining.

Aussie, could you type it right? Its OGL (Open Game License), not OLG. Almost all, if not all, of your posts on this topic throughout these boards use OLG. Sorry for the nitpick, but the OGL has been out since 2000 now.

I've always thought it more of a blender-ized version of Running Man (the Ah-nold movie), the Roman Colliseum and your basic dungeon crawl. :)

I like the setting. I was in a campaign a couple years ago, but it fell apart because of RL. I've done a couple one-shots since then. Its very interesting. I heartily recommend it.

I, or someone else, will need to do some thread necromancy, but the short story is that the ERB estate issued him a letter stating that elements of this book were to similar to the John Carter books. IIRC, he's in talks with the ERB estate to get this back up and running.

For personal use, yes, you are correct. However, distributing IP without permission from the IP owner is not allowed. Anything produced under the OGL has that permission. If its closed content (like most of WotC's books), then you need their permission to distribute their IP.

On the *.htm generated sheet, no. However, many (if not all) conditionals are available to be added to the character as you have PCGen up, and there is a character sheet in PCGen.

I recall seeing a sheet for PCGen that had a button that showed the Rage ability applied. There's also for Full Defense. If you use the program itself during the game, there are temporary abilities (like Rage) that you can apply and then look at your character sheet in the program.

Have you looked at the various documents on the d20 System site, particularly the d20 SG?
