Man, Lords of Madness are looking awesome!!

I got an ultra-rare at a FLGS for $15 today. :) :) I'm thoroughly impressed with the figures I've seen from this set. I'd more or less stopped collecting when I got my Big Red, but Lords of Madness has pulled me back into the fold... -blarg

That's really bad. I run a dance on Saturday nights. The hall we rent is huuuuge, so we set up dividers to barricade off about a third of the space. It's totally counterintuitive, but it's really important that people bump into each other when dancing. If a space is too underpopulated for...

    I am rolling ze dices!

I'm really glad my buddies threw a hugely geeky bachelor party for me a couple weeks ago, because it temporarily used up my geek drive. My wife and I had been talking about tossing d20s at the wedding: "I" *roll* "do!" In retrospect I'm glad we didn't actually do that. :D But I'm curious how...

    A city descending into madness

The party in the campaign I'm DMing has arrived at a remote enemy city that they need to recon. The city is ruled by people possessed by nightmares from the plane of dreams, but it is being infected by an incursion from the plane of madness. I want to gradually turn this chapter of the game...

    Any good news?

For my bachelor party on Friday, my buddies made me quest around the city to rescue the princess' shoes. Some highlights: - The owner of the FLGS played along while I purchased equipment in his store. - There was a really fun contest of strength against an ogre. - There was a random encounter...

Congrats to Blargney and Miss Blargney!

That's too funny! For some reason I haven't had the time to log in here very much over the last few weeks, so I was mystified at the pile of XP notifications today. :D Thank you very much, guys! Wik, you're totally right - I am an unbelievably lucky SOB to be married to my hot gamer girl. A...

Whats the point of monkey grip?

Fearbreed, it sounds like you have a number of house rules in place that make Monkey Grip a more attractive option.

    The problem with Distant Advantage

I use a variation on the flanking dance where I use powers that include free shifts, like Inexorable Advance. I activate the power to shift into an adjacent flanking ally's space and whack twice with combat advantage, then use my move action to shift back to a free square. Also, there are...

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

That's a really clever idea! It certainly falls in the realm of 'plausible'. I wonder if that's actually verifiable?

Keeping track of combat length (for posterity)

I'd say a typical 4e combat for us is 35-45 minutes. Wik's been throwing some pretty crazy stuff at us for the last few pages of this thread, hence the long battle lengths.
