I'm going to diverge slightly from the suggestions so far: Rather than playing it safe and ending up pedestrian... go for evocative, exciting, set-piece encounters! Like the bridge of Khazad-Dum in the mines Moria, the boulder trap in Indiana Jones, or the garbage compactor in the death star.

This group is the first place I've seen that behavior. I can kind of understand - there's new fun stuff coming out all the time. Personally, I'm more of a serial PC monogamist: I'm fully committed to my characters until something catastrophic happens. Ooohhhh, so that's why you're doing that...

I was pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness of the item's daily power. I had originally taken the ornament because the bonus to perception worked well with my dragonmark of detection. It turns out the daily power was a sweet free gift with purchase!

I love comboing Come and Get It with an action point to Sweeping Strike. It's especially nice now that I'm a Dreadnought and gain resist all 10 when I use an action point. :)
