D&D 5E (2014) Warlock in party with Quasit breaking story

Basically, the pact of the chain warlock familiar is the ultimate scout. Theres not a heck of a lot you can do about it, especially in an open outdoors setting with no cover. But indoors, not so much. It can scout out corridors and open areas easy enough. But highly populated areas with...

D&D 5E (2014) Hey All, Is This Encounter A Reasonable One?

Well first of all, your player doesn't like it when you change the stats of monsters? Tell that player to suck it up! They're probably just sore they can't look the monster stats up on their phone. The encounter is perfectly fine, don't sweat it. If the PCs are fresh I'd make it a bit harder...

    D&D 5E (2014) Int 8, Wis 8, Cha 18 Sorcerer

Come on... dumb as a bag of hammers, has no common sense, talks a big game, supremely confident in his own abilities? I'm assuming the only reason no one has mentioned you-know-who in 5 pages is that the Int and Wis scores are too high?

    D&D 5E (2014) Swimming in Armor

In my campaign: Heavy armor/heavy encumbrance = you have -20ft speed, you can't stay afloat but you can walk on the bottom or climb walls Medium armor/encumbered = you have -10ft speed, you can swim with disadvantage Light armor/no encumbrance = you can swim normally

    D&D 5E (2014) Aasimar Cleric build help

If you want to be a protector type - Light domain. Plus that gets some nice blasty powers. Background-wise, if you want him to be humble go Folk Hero. If you want him to be a bit less naive, go Urchin. If you want him to be versed in religious stuff, go Acolyte.

    D&D 5E (2014) So...Volo, Xanathar...who's next?

I imagine Szass Tam would have an agony aunt type column. "Dear Szass, don't judge me but I'm seeing a revenant and we were in love. Sure, he started out real attentive but now he just mutters about "his purpose". Aren't I his purpose? Yours, LovelornSkeleton"

    D&D 5E (2014) Why FR Is "Hated"

Golarion is better written, has more internal consistency and isn't plagued a munchkin writer who desperately wants to write himself as a character in his own setting. Don't get me wrong. I've DMed or played in a few FR campaigns and they've been fun but we've also largely ignored or altered...

Your character is a barrel? I like it. I would give you advantage on charisma checks, because barrels are ace.

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a dungeon that Meta-games

Nah, that's just your run-of-the-mill sentient dungeon! It's only meta-gamey (and trolly) if the dungeon always waits til hour 7 of the long rest to send monsters against them Extra points if a thunderous voice booms "Ha ha, suck it noobs!"

    D&D 5E (2014) Hello - new player character advice

Yikes! For level 3's?! Are there 10 characters in the party or something? I probably wouldn't bother putting a lot of effort into your character dude.

D&D 5E (2014) The Logistics of Trapping a God (Or all of them.)

Ugh. I knew there was a reason I stopped reading these awful books. What did the gods do next? Ask for his tax records and do an audit?

Yeah, if it were me I'd just ignore the munchkin canon and have Cyric win.

    D&D 5E (2014) Help me grok mega-dungeons

I don't get them either. Ever since I first looked at the city map for Xak Tsaroth in that old Dragonlance adventure, I inwardly groaned. Not from the location itself, that was amazing with some incredible potential for storytelling. It was the fact that every room had a number on it and the...

D&D 5E (2014) The Logistics of Trapping a God (Or all of them.)

Why not trick the gods into reading the book, thereby making them his obedient thrawls? Ao is the real threat though. How is he going to deal with Ao?

D&D 5E (2014) Island Adventure and Slow Natural Recovery Question

Be careful with this. Your players may not find this as fun as you do. Survival in the jungle is a fun novelty but if no one in your party is a "wilderness" type, and the players actually have to describe what they're doing to survive... it can quickly devolve into arguing about real world...
