I'm thinking the Far Realms entities are just as incomprehensible and disturbing to demons as they are to mortals. Reminds me of a conversation from the first Discworld novel about the blatantly-Lovecraftian temple of Bel-Shamharoth:

I have no idea why anyone would ever think that all dragons must have elaborate, custom-made lairs full of magical traps, or that they must create these things themselves through innate magical abilities. It seems like a pretty silly demand, and it doesn't come anywhere near the way most people...

Completely true. But doesn't the same generally go for WotC-published stuff? Of course, in those cases, there's a much better chance that the DM does own and trust the product, but the same rules are usually there. There's certainly WotC-published stuff I wouldn't allow, and third-party stuff...

Yeah, that's been confusing me, too. I haven't seen Races & Classes, but the 4e halfling art I've seen doesn't really look like what people in this thread are describing. Actually, I really wish it did. I like dreads. I don't like the whole '70s braid thing this guy has going on.
