D&D 5E (2014) Teleportation circles costs *how* much?!

I'm disappointed you didn't mention the sheep poop for currency idea. Yeah, I'm actually working on an item agnostic pricing scheme. NPCs have a Need value of 1 to x, and items/services have a Scarcity of 1 to y (local, not fixed, so agnostic to individual items, but not regions) and this...

D&D 5E (2014) Teleportation circles costs *how* much?!

Pshhh. A castle is worth one hostage: the previous owner. I never get why people say the prices are ridiculous. Of course they are! ECONOMICS IS CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Money has no inherent value! Prices are only logical in perfect theoretical markets! Infinite gold results in a lack of scarcity...

    D&D 5E (2014) Monsters in Pandemonium

There's a number of gods hanging out there, apparently, so servants of those gods might make an appearence. See the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemonium_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons) Another native creature appears to be the Murska, and here's a 3.5 homebrew + description of that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dirty Secrets?

My dirty secret is that I constantly recycle content from old games into new ones using only name changes, and not very good ones at that.

D&D 5E (2014) Teleportation circles costs *how* much?!

Gotta go with Shidaku. I mean, does anyone really think the nobility of Waterdeep can't afford to install a circle or two? Or the Lords of Thay, who, not to put too fine a point on it, literally run a massive despotic wizard nation?

    What 5e got wrong

It took me a while to respond to this, since it honestly seems like you refuse to take anything I say seriously. 5E is not the best thing ever. It's pretty darn cool, but it's no Feng Shui, and it never will be. Furthermore, I am not 'disillusioned.' I am a PF fan. I just no longer obsessively...

D&D 4E One thing I miss from 4e...the Saving Throws

I like the six save system as a way of clearly balancing value between the ability scores, although the actual effects that use those saves and the frequency of said effects could be improved. I think they should have put in a section demonstrating improvising the creation of a saving throw...

    What 5e got wrong

Well I just have. I am a PF fan. I like PF. I like playing PF. I still read their OGC. If any of my group still played, I would play with them, and I would like it. I don't say PF is flawed because I dislike it. I say it's flawed for the same I reason I say the original XCOM is flawed. Because...

    What 5e got wrong

Oh don't get me wrong. I would still play PF. It's ok as a game system. I like it. But I rank it below Shadowrun 4th edition these days. Because the design philosophy behind it is inherently flawed.

    What 5e got wrong

Ugh. Now I have to say words. In coherent sentences, even. Before 5th, my favorite edition of DnD was 3.5 I found it to be the easiest to read, understand, create content for, DM, and play. When Pathfinder came out, I jumped ship with my group immediately. I loved it. It fixed so many little...

    D&D 5E (2014) Is there a such thing as a combat simulator?

Wasn't me. Was somebody else, in a forum a long time ago and far, far away. But thanks anyways!

D&D 5E (2014) Hypothetical Campaign: No ASIs, Only Feats.

Other than shaving off a few + 1s and 2s from characters, I don't think this will change much at all. Except, of course, that everyone will start looking for classes that don't rely much on stats.

    D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Champion

Yes actually. The book is out. WoTC isn't going to change it now. And you asking on this forum isn't going to achieve anything at all.

    D&D 5E (2014) nature-themed magic items

Bear gloves! Wait, no, they already have that cause moon druid. How about a charm or blessing from an otherwordly being, like those found in the back of the magic item section of the DMG? Something without physical form might actually be more 'natural' than a real item. Say, the power to speak...

    D&D 5E (2014) Blees Still Broken/OP?

No. Why would they? That sounds horrible. DnD is like beating my head against a wall. It feels so good when I stop. :p

D&D 5E (2014) Ruminations on Overpowered Feats and Crafting New Feats

Given the ephemeral nature of balance, I don't think feats are overpowered so much as they are occasionally irritating due to the fact that they actually, for the most part, make characters competent at some specific task. For example, if a campaign relies extensively on players remembering...
