    D&D 5E (2014) How To Make a Good D&D Videogame

Darkest Dungeon is not that much like XCOM. I'm a fan of both DD and XCOM:EU, and while I love them both, the similarities are fewer than the differences. I recommend watching some DD play on youtube. It's probably your best bet to see what the game is like pre-purchase

D&D 5E (2014) How cognizant are you of the rules of the game?

Sorry, but we carry extra strength hair growth. "For the Sasquatch in you!"

D&D 5E (2014) How cognizant are you of the rules of the game?

Because it increases virility, grows hair on your chest, doubles your money and tastes like victory! Note to self: from now on, all healing potions are made from snake oil, and get sold exclusively by traveling con artists.

    Green-Flame Blade = magic weapon?

What even is weapon damage? Is that a rule or something from previous editions? Or is that just a leftover concept from forum discussions?

    D&D 5E (2014) December Survey is Up

I really liked the Runes, and I was OKish with Runescribe. I suggested dropping the built in Rune abilities and replacing them with faster attunement to Runes, allowing scribes to quickly switch from one Rune to the next.

    Green-Flame Blade = magic weapon?

I'm pretty sure that GFB does fire damage, so I don't think it matters.

D&D 5E (2014) How would you make a character who uses a shield like Captain America?

Bending gravity works in a vacuum, that's why. In addition, it alters spacetime, resulting in a relative time based on the amount of force gravity exerts on mass. Wings can be cut off, whereas the Storm Sorceror's ability to affect winds is not, as far as I know, something that can be cut out...

D&D 5E (2014) How would you make a character who uses a shield like Captain America?

Actually, I think that varies based on what a person considers mechanics. I regard a functioning weather system and somewhat similar to realistically modeled airflow as a valuable and important game mechanic. Same for which body parts a person needs to blast stuff, and whether or not they can...

D&D 5E (2014) How would you make a character who uses a shield like Captain America?

A fair point, but Bucky Barnes can do it, and I think he could have only learned how pre-mindwashing and robo arm installation. And he doesn't have any powers.

D&D 5E (2014) How would you make a character who uses a shield like Captain America?

Cap's original shield in most continuities is just steel. It's also not round, it's shaped like some bit of American symbolism. The shield the eagle holds in it's claws in some picture somewhere? http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_America's_Shield Check the part near the bottom, Other...

    D&D 5E (2014) Revenant and cross-country

Seriously. Just cut off the rotting parts, wash, maybe slap some maggots on it, and that smell will vanish. Works every time. :p And as long as it doesn't smell too bad, I imagine the horse won't give a :):):):). On a more serious note, have the Revenant travel by suicide. Kill the current...

    D&D 5E (2014) Revenant and cross-country

Revenants are intelligent undead. They can probably smell, too. So I'd say it wouldn't be completely impossible for a Revenant to pass a living person, assuming they got rid of rotting flesh and got some new clothing every once in while. Likewise, they could easily understand money and trade...

    D&D 5E (2014) Where can I find Informaion on 5E Potions?

Honestly, I don't think it's the effect that matters so much in the potion as much as the lack of concentration. Not needing concentration means that someone can be, say, invisible and summoning monsters at the same time. The ability to combine independent effects is much more powerful the any...

D&D 5E (2014) LMoP (spoilers) - Why need map for final location?

Who wants to return somewhere and just assumes they'll get back there on nothing but memory? And if it's a risk to leave that map behind, why would Gundren leave without the map?

    D&D 5E (2014) Expediting Exploration

I'd actually like to point out here that Hemlock is onto something. In the DMG on pg 121, there's a 'Complex trap' header, which mentions traps that have an initiative score and a turn. These traps do something on their turn, just like a monster might, which allows the people at the table to...

D&D 5E (2014) What do you do when your players are gunshy?

They're acting like people who don't understand the way your world works. They don't know the rules, so they're guessing and second guessing every action. If they just had something concrete to work on, which would result in a clear and unmitigated success, they'd perk right back up. For...
