Sage Advice: Sneak Attacks, Breath Weapons, and Magic Weapons

They absolutely do. NO FIGHTING IN THE WAR ROOM! NO MAGIC IN THE ANTI MAGIC FIELD!

Sage Advice: Sneak Attacks, Breath Weapons, and Magic Weapons

Are you saying the undead aren't magic? I was under the impression that undeath is friendship.

Sage Advice: Sneak Attacks, Breath Weapons, and Magic Weapons

Yeah. Means zombies can walk around in dead magic zones, too.

Of course it sucks, it isn't a bard.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Magic: Does it Feel Magical to You?

Feel is subjective. No magic system has ever felt like more than rules to me. The only magic portrayed in fiction I've really liked was...no wait. Can't think of anything. Dr Strange got close, but eh, whatever. Guess I watched too much Stargate SG-1.

D&D 5E (2014) Why Has D&D, and 5e in Particular, Gone Down the Road of Ubiquitous Magic?

Partly it's because new entirely supernatural classes were created since the beginning, like the Druid, the Sorcerer and the Warlock, which either cast spells or had significantly spell like mechanics. Partly it was to increase survivability of characters. More spells for more people means that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fist of Unbroken Air ... broken?

You learn Elemental Disciplines from the subclass. Disciplines require that you spend Ki points each time you used one. Some Disciplines allow you to cast spells. Spells have a Ki point maximum. There is no stated maximum for spending Ki on a Discipline. Determing whether or not there should...

D&D 5E (2014) Fight to the death or negotiate?

I read the first book and decided to drop Correia from my reading list. I don't think how hard the gnomes hit matters to the giants at all. Fear of being seen as cowardly would probably keep them fighting till they dropped. I'm fully aware of how stupid that sounds. But I grew up in a world...

D&D 5E (2014) Fight to the death or negotiate?

Huh. Fire giants aren't proficient in STR saves. If they were, they'd have a plus 11 STR save bonus. The more you know. In fact, only Storm giants are proficient in STR saves. Well, anyhoo, losing to lawn gnomes sounds almost like 'I must commit seppuku for honor of family!' kind of...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition and the "true exotic" races ...

It's not about 'approval' it's about coloring inside the lines. People don't take a lot of risks. If Half-Orcs look like a risk from an investment stand point, then everybody can say good bye to 3rd content that includes Half-Orcs. And don't say it's about creativity. Or initiative. There are...
