    Damage Mitigation Calculator

They don't, it's actually Dragonborn, Dwarves with the Dwarvern Durability Feat. That's why each characters has the option to turn it on or off.

    Comparisions between classes

LOL Ioisel, you'd use a spreadsheet to decide if you're going ot get up in the morning. Well here's another one for you, only it's for assessing a group not comparing classes: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=238633 ...but the Rogue isn't the alpha-strike king, that's the...

    Comparisions between classes

Fighter vs. Paladin Fighters are better at tanking groups, Paladins are better at tanking single targets Rogue vs. Ranger Rogues and Rangers are pretty even to start with, but the Rangers focus on multiple attacks per round puts them further and further in front as the level up. Eventually...

    Damage Mitigation Calculator

I've made this Excel spreadsheet to compare the ability of different characters to soak up attacks (vs. AC). Please check it out and see if I've made any mistakes: http://files.filefront.com/Mitigation+Calculatorxls/;11501797;/fileinfo.html Edit: Updated link for the new version.

    Dealing with Healing Surges

I'm interested, how many encounters per day are a good idea? I find that my players always want to extended rest after any fight hard enough to use their Daily powers, so if there's a long string of normal or easy encounters they just keep going.

    Winning Combinations

Well if you're doing that you may as well do it with Riposte Strike or Hellish Rebuke. It's better with Hellish Rebuke because Infernal Locks often have Temp HP. There are too many combos to list them all, how about combo's you can do every round? You can catch a Warlock in a Scorching Burst...

    Winning Combinations

Well there can't be too many combo's that use just At-Will powers, but here's mine: Dire Radiance and Divine Challenge. The Paladin Challenges, Attacks then shifts away. The monster can either follow the Paladin and take extra damage or attack someone else at -2 to hit and take extra damage.

    Skeleton and mark

PHB page 227: MARKED ✦ You take a –2 penalty to attack rolls for any attack that doesn’t target the creature that marked you.

D&D 4E Needing a crash course in 4e to DM

I paste pictures of the monsters into a grid in Excel and print that, then cut them out. Works like a charm so long as nobody turns the fan on.

D&D 4E Needing a crash course in 4e to DM

So you know how to DM but are new to 4th Ed? If you're running a pre-made you should be able to get by with the bare minimum: In the PHB read: Generating Ability Scores page 17. Alignments page 19. Read Powers pages 54 to 59. Combat chapter 9 page 264 onwards. In the DMG read (but keep the...

As you enter the room, you see everything OR how to handle high passive perception

I DM a group with a player who had a passive perception of 24 at level 1. So what I do is use traps as obsticles and hazards. Put them in places where they'll hinder movement or where controlers can push players into them (remember the players get a save).

    Most powerful, flexible party

To get consistant results you'd need to use the same group of people, otherwise the variation in playing ability is a factor. You should make a series of increaingly harder challenges and see how far each group of characters can get through without resting. Let the players see it beforehand so...

    Glass jaw of PC defenses

The gap gets bigger too. Both AC and other defenses get a +6 enhancement bonus and up to +5 from stats, but AC gets an additional +2 from improving armor materials. The only way to keep up is to take Iron Will, Great Fortitude and Lightning Reflexes. Worse, only two of your three other defenses...

D&D 4E Any tips for speeding up the game? 4e is slowing me down!

Hi Emirikol. What is it that's slowing down play for you? I DM a group that's played 3 Sundays so far and already we're into the flow of things and moving along nicely. However we have had two things that slow down play: 1) Most of my group either kow their stats and powers or have printed the...

    Sleep spell and waking up

It makes you realise just how nasty the Orb Wizard/Divine Oracle build really is. "Sorry Mr Dragon you only wake up on a 16 or higher and we all get auto-crits until you do."

    Most powerful, flexible party

There's no way I'd go for 2 Warlords, but one is very nice. A lot of the combos people come up with depend on +hit bonuses from Tactical Warlords.

Maximizing the yield of Power Attack... a formula!

I did a couple of comparisons and the gist of it is that it's usually useful so long as you're: A) Not attacking a soldier or higher level monster and B) Don't get some bonus effect for hitting Since B happens a lot, I'm going to save my feat for something that is always good.
