Seal of Binding+Divine Regeneration is NOT an automatic win

Nice system, but this power is a lot less broken against groups. Either stunning or reducing the caster to half HP will prevent them from sustaining it. On the same vein, you could combo your solo monster with other monsters that can stun.

    Pelor's Radiance vs. Turn Undead

Not really. Stun is nice but it's a smaller area and does nothing on a miss. The only time I'd use it is against Solo Undead where the stun really counts, so maybe it's worth taking when you're in Epic Tier and you run out of good stuff to spend your feats on.

You could try taking KotS and cut the boring bits out of it.

Seal of Binding+Divine Regeneration is NOT an automatic win

You're right that's it's not unlimited damage, and you're right that there are three monsters that can survive it...but every character that beats the Clerics initiative gets a shot in, and the moment the Seal breaks everyone but the Cleric get's their readied actions. So maybe it's not a one...

    Adventure Recommendation Request

Including making characters? Can it be less than 12 hours? There's a simple dungeon crawl in the DMG called Kobold Hall (page 210) that is quite short, so you could make characters and run newbies through it in under 12 hours. If the characters are made before hand then it's probably too short.

    Debuffs and Elites/Solos

I haven't faced this problem yet but there are some particuarly nasty powers that may be a problem: Seal of Binding - Combinded with Demigod Regeneration this is an auto-win if it hits. Certain Justice - When hit the monster Weakened AND Dazed for the entire fight, no save. Also it has a +4 to...

how to manage a defender heavy group

Actually the group can deal with minions pretty easily if several of them are Dragonborn. A 5x5 breath attack is great for minions. Also a Tactical Warlord could multi-class into Wizard for some minion shreadding and control powers.

    Broken? The popsicle/marshmellow attack

That's certainly true, you have to predict what you're going to need in the next round of combat. However, since you can start with a move or minor action Encounter power you can always have something that's easy to dump for the standard action Encounter Power that you want. So you might start...

    Broken? The popsicle/marshmellow attack

When you use your last encounter power you can get back any of your encounter powers, which allows you to switch through them and use whatever you want (so long as you don't get stuck with something you can't use). So rather that loosing versatility you can take a better variety of powers and...

    Broken? The popsicle/marshmellow attack

With a good Ranger/Rogue build you can use Divine Miracle to make 1 minor, 1 standard, and 1 immediate attack and then shift twice your speed.

how I killed my party: KotS spoilers

I've just had a look at the encounter in the module and I think I see the problem...and it's the "there's a monster lets charge forward" stratergy adopted by your players. If you block the entrance of the corridor that leads to 13 and 14 all the grunting goblinoid in the world isn't going to...

Good on paper, bad in play.

Have your healer delay so that they go after you but before the monsters. That way the monsters attack and bloody you, then you get regen, then the healer tops you off. Repeat.

Forked Thread: Are Targets defined by intent or the effect?

I'd say that the target is choosen when an attack roll is made, but before it is determined if that attack hit or not. Could you give an example of where this is relivant?

how I killed my party: KotS spoilers

What level were your players? 4 level 1's should be able to beat an 800XP encounter but only if they're got Daily powers and Action Points to spend and use good tactics. More than 800XP and they're toast.

There's no mechanical difference, these are just suggestions. Orb, Staff or Wand is the real choice you need to be looking at.

Star Pact is the best one, Cthulu told me so.

    Cleric Optimized For Healing

So true, and frankly they were right. OK so some people do like being pure healers, but they're vastly out-numbered by the people who don't want to be pure healers but get forced into that role when it's avaliable. The game isn't hardcore enough to require dedicated healers anyway, and in a...
