One creature in burst and concealment

It's fairly straight forward: Divine Challenge is a Close Burst. It does damage. Swarms take extra damage when hurt by Close Bursts. The game is supposed to be fun, you don't have to be able to justify everything that happens with the laws of physics. If the effect doesn't seem to fit the...

    Bracers of Mighty Striking

Good call I didn't think of that. Also Oppertunity Attacks, Charge and attacks from Combat Challenge are basic attacks so they can be good for a Fighter.

official revision to skill challenge system

Looking at the numbers, you've got fairly flat regions at the extremes where skills slowly scale and steep regions in the middle. Also the higher the complexity the steeper the scaling. All up a single point difference in the DC can make for a 20% difference in the party's chance of success...

One creature in burst and concealment

When in doubt, stick with the rules as written unless you have a very good reason not to and flavor is almost never a good reason. For example, according to official ruling you can knock an Ooze prone. Use the rules and make up the flavor, and if it still seems wrong the DM can give it +2/-2...

    Back into the combat immediatley

The DM shouldn't be pissed off at all. If the rules say it's correct, go with it. If you think it's broken or aren't sure check the rules or make a house rule between sessions. Why get angry about it? Refer you DM to the bottom of page 7 in the DMG.

official revision to skill challenge system

To expand on what JGulick did, here's a look at level 1. Remember that under the new system up to two players can use Aid Another to assist a third player with a higher skill, so a level 1 you're getting up to +16 to your skill check. Skill Easy -1 0 1 2 3 4...

    Need clarification on damage bonuses

    Hmmm you may be right.

    Boundless Endurance

So what happens when you activate it then get knocked Unconscious? It brings you back awake with 2+Con Mod hitpoints? That would be pretty powerful.

    Blade Cascade: Much too good...

Before I agree or disagree, what's the most overpowered combo you're thinking of? I thought this was the rule anyway? Only an immediate interupt should be able to move you (or let you do anything else) during this sequence of attacks anyway.

    Shield pushing

I don't really get why a Fighter would want to be able to push. Push only causes enemies to move away from you, when your goal should be to get as many into melee as possible. The only good use I can think of is to push them into a hazard, and other classes can do this better than the Fighter...

    Need clarification on damage bonuses

Lets say I have a Longbow, +8 damage from Dex, +6 damage from a Weapon, and +3 damage from a feat. I then use Manticore's Volley (no Hunter's Quarry) on a monster and hit with all three attacks. I do 5D10+(8+6+3)*3 damage, or 5D10+51 damage. The bonuses apply 3 times for the 3 attacks but not...

    Taking lower level powers

You sure can. Page 28: [/LEFT] Encounter and Daily powers are the same.

    Race-Class-Matchup

...which was exactly my point. I'm not saying Dragonborn makes a bad Guardian fighter, just that the Dwarf makes a better one. Isn't the point of the table to advise beginners on the best choice of class? If so, why ignore the obvious difference between builds?

    Race-Class-Matchup

I think your table oversimplifies things, because it doesn't take into account different builds. Dwarves for example, make better Guardian Fighters and Dragonborn but worse Great Weapon Fighters.

    Why are skill challenges "broken"?

No, the whole skill challenge system is really messed up. I just can't make sense of how it's supposed to work. There's two ways players can go about it. 1) They are all making their own skill checks: If it's based on skills that the players aren't strong in then they have a low chance of...

    Damage Per Round

Thanks loisel, I found this very interesting. I did a quick analysis of striker damage when I first got the books, and while my approach was very different (it focused on the use of all 4 encounter powers over 4 rounds at level 30) the result was pretty similar: Rangers are the top damagers...
