    Champions of Valor

As I recall it, his girlfriend Willow got an excellent job in Northern California about the same time the layoffs were going on. Since she was going to be leaving, he offered to be laid off instead of one of his coworkers, since he was planning on going with her... Of course, if I'm wrong...

Info from the 2006 May to August WotC Catalog

*shrug* Things change. Maybe the price point wasn't working for them, or maybe there was a shortage of the figures and rather than shortchange the entire line by having to juggle the box sizes, they just decided to package the big guys by themselves.

Does one attack roll = one attack?

36 a minute is the best I can come up with: 20th level fighter. Rapid Shot Weapon of Speed or Haste spell. But that's just going off the top of my head.

If you want to stock up on your GURPS library...

Sad... They don't have the Horseclans book. I'm not surprised, it's been OoP for years. I just wish I could find a copy for areasonable price. Been a while since I looked last, though...

Where did % to stablize come from?

We just add the Con bonus to the 10% for the total. IE, if you've got a +3 Con bonus, your stabilization chance is 13%. It's simple, it works, and my pc's are happy with it. Especially when that Con bonus means they actually managed to stabilize. :)

Does one attack roll = one attack?

For a 1st/2nd Ed game, its possible, with their 1 minute long rounds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Longbow http://www.historicalweapons.com/bowandarrow.html http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/longbow.htm Plus most texts dealing with the battles of the French and English...

    Dwarves + axes... why?

Peter Woodward, and I believe the name of the show was CONQUEST. Good show.

July 2006 WotC Releases--MM IV, Secrets of Xen'Drik, d20 Super Heroes

A FAITHS AND AVATARS style book would work. Something that provides usable information on the priesthoods (rites, rituals, holy days, important temples, celebrated clergy) would be useful. Something like FAITHS AND PANTHEONS (which was mostly a collection of stat blocks for the deities...

    A concern with Spellcraft

I use the "common foundations" thought myself. The PC will probably not be able to tell the form the spell will end up taking (ie, single ball of fire, multiple balls, etc), but he will be able to tell some general information. I personally treat PH spells as common, FR book spells as uncommon...

    Dragon #336

I must second the kudos on this article. I was excited enough to wake up my gamer girlfriend about it. *lol*

    Orc & Pie T-shirts

I love my Orc'n'pie! Tis a great shirt. I never fail to get strange looks when i wear it. :) Almost as many as my Pervy Hobbit Fancier shirt. :p

    Reigning in Skills

How about changing the maximum ranks to Lvl+2? That will "encourage" high skill point characters to spread out, simply because they have a lower maximum to plug points into...

    Osafune Kiyomitsu Made My Sword

Monte Cook has a short story series coming out in a gaming magazine that has a similar premise. Just saw the ad for it in the most recent Dragon magazine...

    Official WOTC Nabassu?

Has the nabassu been updated for 3E yet? I've got a link to the creature conversion, and I'll use that, but I'm wondering if there is an "offical" version of the beastie out there...

    The truth about THAC0

Little benefit...except that it helped keep the game from being too mechanical. When keeping it secret, I find: 1) The players are more creative. If they don't know for sure that they need an extra +1 to hit, they're as likely to try and flank rather than cast a bless spell, or maybe they'd...

Question - how to cure effects of Wounding spell?

Do you mean that a cleric-type casting a cure spell has to make a spellcaster check, DC=spell's DC, in order for the spell to work (which then ends the wounding), or a normal Heal check to do the same? Or do they just make a save each round until its' successful?

Question - how to cure effects of Wounding spell?

The Wounding Spell feat from Lost Empires of Faerun causes everyone hurt by the spell to continue losing 1hp/round. What will stop the damage effect? I hit the party with a wounding ice dagger spell last night, and the fight ended, but we didn't have the time to do any follow up. Now, I've...

    Battlemat Use

I use baby wipes. The generic ones work just as good as the name brands (and are much cheaper, at the dollar stores ;) ). The mat dries pretty quickly after cleaning, usually, too.

Shackled City in the Realms Question *SPOILERS*

Why not use Velsharoon? Fastest link I could find on google: http://groups.msn.com/HomeofDrizztDoUrden/velsharoon.msnw He is an official FR deity, as of the 2nd Ed book Powers and Pantheons.
