I was toying with the idea of giving everybody 2 or so background skills for free that are similar to the 3e profession or craft skills, in order to give them some way to define it more, but I think in the end they'll probably be able to work that into their background without any rules... All...

I enjoyed 3.5 right up until 2 weeks ago when we finished our campaign. However enjoyable it was, doesn't change the fact that there are some serious flaws in the game that I think 4e will improve upon, much like I saw many improvements going from 2e to 3e.

Not quite, actually... Some monsters get way more nasty when they are bloodied because they deal extra damage or get healing, etc. In that case you should wait with your high damage powers until you get the enemy bloodied and then unleash all hell on him...

This. I know that in my group there are some who want lots of rp'ing, but others just like the get together and kill monsters and take their stuff aspect. Should they be penalized because they like the last part better or are simply beter at it than at rp'ing?

Sleep does not do psychic damage... In fact, after you've bene hit you'd have to fail your save to fall asleep after spending a turn slowed and then fail it to stay asleep...
