I like dragons but I rarely use them. They're more there for plot elements than as creatures to fight. I don't like dungeons.

It's designed well for balance, and I also really like the idea of having alternate prerequisite feats so you are not stuck with 5 choices just to get one you really want.

I usually skipped the baaz and used the bozaks and sivaks primarily. The bozaks were great BBEG wizards and the sivak could create so much confusion with their shapechanging ability and death throes. Auraks were usually a bit too beefy for my campaigns, but they were even better as BBEGs.

Well, I've been playing with the same group for many years, so it's not really a problem. They trust that I will move the campaign in different directions depending upon my desires and the entertainment of the players.
