    Butch's (non-map) art

I've been trying to do some more work in color, so I went looking in the PencilJack forums for some line art to color. This is the original pencil drawing, and the inked version from PencilJack. Still not sure about the background, but I like it well enough overall. Her jacket could probably...

How did you teach your kid to play D&D?

My son's 5, and he LOVES playing DragonStrike (this one , not the one with the cheesy motorized dragon). He likes describing things that happen during the fight and making sound effects, so he's already about 90% there. :D Seriously, anyone who wants to see if there kids might be interested in...

    Butch's (non-map) art

And a few from my latest sketchbook. I realized the other day that I usually end up drawing people with the same two or three expressions, so I tried branching out. Plus, zombies, Lex Luthor (not sure why I drew him) and a cute doggie cribbed from Preston Blair's animation book (which is an...

    Butch's (non-map) art

I realized this morning that, while I've posted plenty of maps here, I've never put up any of my other art. Not like I'm a pro or anything - I don't expect anyone to come beating down my doors asking me to work for 'em! - but I thought I'd put a few pieces up to share. These are all scans...

[ZNG] Fantasy Cartography #15 is up!

Thanks! :) I wish I could get back onto a regular recording schedule, but between overcoming the flu, some technical issues a couple of weeks back, and various family issues (and trying to get the darn book finished to boot), it's been pretty hectic! Next week, though, I'll record episode 16...

    ZNG Cartography

Well, here's the quick version! The bulk of Maya was done with five Solid Color layers: one each for the two different building colors, one for the roads, one for the walls, and one for the forests. The roads, walls, and buildings were all added with the same method I described back in...

    What OS do you use?

At present, we have 5 computers in the house*: three PC's (one desktop and two laptops) and two Macs (an old iMac and a new MacBook). *There are more than that, but the others are in mothballs at the moment, destined for donation in the near future.
