Hey, people in prison need D&D too!

IIRC, that was true, he had a complicated ongoing case, but the footage was of the guys empty cell, IIRC, he was allegedly killed by prison guards. Or they were using his cell as overflow storage as harassment. I really can't remember. But still, he had lots of stuff in his cell and it was...

    Using races differently from stereotypes

None of my elves are PC-able. Most are dead or undead. The Orcs of my setting are amphibious, independent, spear-favoring, nomads. Some are integrated into demihuman culture, some retain their original culture. Also, Giants (not to mention goblinoids and other humanoid races) are represented...

Hey, people in prison need D&D too!

No magazines? I'm surprised. I was in a history class on (U.S.) prisons and saw one video where this guy had all kinds of boxes of what appeared to be files and binders and such in his cell. And some other cells with various things in them. Certainly things that were not totally necessary to...

    Hireling, henchmen, extras and redshirts.

Hey, that's not what I'm saying at all. I said nothing about badwrongfun.

Dungeonscape art gallery is up. Notably the return of the rotgrub!

No, IMO, that place will always be held for being stripped of all gear, shaved bald, tied up with rope (no gag, of course--if you yell, you'll just attract the predators in the dungeon!) made of other adventurer's hair and left in a dungeon corridor by Jermlaines.

    Hireling, henchmen, extras and redshirts.

Yes our campaigns are very different. I was speaking of a D&D campaign world as presented by the Core Rules. What most people think of as an "average" campaign world. The fact that your world was not "average" should have been mentioned in your post. Why? Because your game is different and...

Hey, people in prison need D&D too!

That's because North Carolina is an Un-Fun State. Look at our laws on National Firearms Act items. Fireworks. Crossbows. Pepper spray.

Hey, people in prison need D&D too!

There was a thread somewhere about who played D&D. Someone eventually said something like "People say D&D is for pansies and football is a real game. D&D isn't for pansies. Football is for pansies. Soldiers, cops and convicts play D&D."

    Hireling, henchmen, extras and redshirts.

WTF? Breach the gate? How tall were the walls? Hmmmmm. 50 men... Invisibility Sphere+Sculpt Sound would let you get close to the wall without taking fire, Spider Climb Potions to climb the wall easily, use Tanglefoot bags to keep say, five guys in position on the wall while others lower the...

D&D 3.x Conceptual Problems with 3E/3.5E and Desired Solutions for 4E

Do you routinely wear say, 50 pounds of armor on your body and walk around for three hours? No? Then what were you saying?

Some players don’t want to build characters…

Huh, I'll have to look those over and see just how bad they are compared to the default NPCs in the DMG.

    Guns, D&D, and DDM

I dunno, Arabia says mysterious and exotic alchemical experiments to me (maybe because I like the Mechanician kit in the Sha'irs Handbook so much).

D&D 3.x Conceptual Problems with 3E/3.5E and Desired Solutions for 4E

Sean K. Reynolds had an optional rule that let NPCs add their ranks in Knowledge (X) and Profession (X) to their ranks in Craft (X) for their Craft checks. They have concentrated their expertise in one industry and are much better than PCs who have just dabbled in the practical aspects so they...

D&D 3.x Conceptual Problems with 3E/3.5E and Desired Solutions for 4E

I was going to say that the 1st level guy could use any weapon he wanted...if the 15th level guy started asleep with the 1st level guy right beside him. But even with a Scythe (8d4 damage on a CdG), the 15th level character (if he was a high Con, high HD class) could possibly survive the (20...

D&D 3.x Conceptual Problems with 3E/3.5E and Desired Solutions for 4E

Reread your DMG. The Community wealth guidelines are there for this. And magic weapons do not, RAW, wear out. So vorpal swords made thousands of years ago may very well still be around and available for purchase.

Look at spellcaster starting ages. Magic is time-consuming to learn.

Going through the Tomb of Horrors(3.5) the first time...

Light doesn't work on creatures. It targets an object. Tie pebbles around their necks.

1st-level characters in the Tomb of Horrors

My point was it doesn't do that. People think it does, but it doesn't.

    What do elves eat?

All my elves are either drow, dead, undead, Sidhe, Unsidhe, or shadow-bound. So they mostly don't eat a lot.
