How Long to Hear Back about an Article Submission

The only idea selected. I would highly reccommend you not write your adventure until it gets a "go-ahead" from an editor. If you like your idea and it gets rejected, you can do two things: 1) Shop it around to another publisher or 2) Wait until a new editor comes on board and submit it again...

How Long to Hear Back about an Article Submission

And might I add, that around the same time as I submitted "Throne of Iuz", I had submitted about four other ideas. The only one selected was "Throne." The others got a polite "no thank you."

How Long to Hear Back about an Article Submission

I just had an adventure appear in Dungeon ("Throne of Iuz," Dungeon 118). Here's the timeline as I remember it: Late December 2003 -- Submit first query letter with adventure details. Disclosure form included. January 2004 -- Send check-up letter with query letter and disclosure form attached A...

    Deragatory Terms for Warforged?

Even beyond "tool," I think "Bucket Head" is best. It has a very street-level feel. It implies they are empty inside. It implies they are something to kick around. It implies they are made of cheap metal.

Where is Monte Cook from? (Also, where are *you* from?)

I grew up in Corning, N.Y. (Hey, Eric, when did you live there?) -- or at least that's what I tell people who ask nowadays. I really grew up in Lindley N.Y. on the Pennsylvania border. It's about five to ten miles from Corning. Now I live in York, Pa., a slighlty backward town I have grown to...

My first FFG purchase (A review of sorts)

I ordered Dungeon Craft, City Works, Wildscape and Giant Lore. I'm about halfway through Dungeon Craft and like most of what I see. As others have said, the art is great in these books. Thanks, FFG.

    Stat yourself... Off topic?? dunno.

The uber-geekiness of this thread demands that I add myself into the mix. CLASS: Expert 1 (I have no fighting skills, so I can't have advanced a level. Additionally, I only claim to be an expert because I've been in the same career for 9 years.) CLASS (Alternate): Expert 3 (If you do the...

    Kudos and Errors: Dungeon 118

As the author of "Throne of Iuz", I can say that there's a pretty detailed process for determining things like skill points, feats, bonus feats and the like. When I hand in a draft for a character, its skills/feats would look something like this: (Note that this is an example I'm making up off...

    Footsoldier races in module series/homebrews

I've been through two campaign worlds recently -- Scarred Lands and Freeport. Oddly enough, the primary footsoldier villains in each are yuan-ti/serpentfolk reptile types. While I'm now having a growing hatred for anything with scales, I can't help but wonder, three things: 1) What are the...

    Hasbro cuts 125 jobs

I just read a Scripps Howard news story that says that Hasbro cited the trend of kids wanting more techno-gadgets and less toys. Hasbro unfortunately relies on sales of traditional toys such as action figures, not GameBoy-like devices. I take it to mean that they cut some of their toy designers.

Star Wars d6 -- wild die?

In all current D6 games, you must at roll a wild die with every skill check. For example, if you have a skill check of 1D, that die is the wild die. If you have 6D, one is the wild die and five are regular. Anyway, the wild die counts toward your regular total on all rolls. However if it rolls a...
