    Tips for DMing a solo game

    Make Use Magic Device an untrained, all class skill for the character. This helps the character use wands -- particularly wands of healing and restoration! Heck, I'd even give a free feat: Skill Focus: Use Magic Device.

    It's funny, in all my years of D&D playing and DMing, my groups have never been interested in published settings. We played Scarred Lands for a while. And we've used plenty of modules, but nothing long term.

    d6: pips or numbers?

    It always appears to me that my Pipped dice roll, on average, just a wee bit higher. Is there any truth to the notion that the "One-Pip" side of a pipped d6 is a heavier, and therefore ends up on the bottom more often? That of course means that the "Six-Pip" side is on top more often.

    What spells do you ban?

    I'm assembling my house rules for an upcoming game. I want to ban skills that provide instant travel powers and push communication and skill use rather than relying on spells. So .... With those restrictions in mind, what spells would you ban? And, while I'm at it, what spells do you ban and why?
