    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

yes there is a x^3 and then x^5, but these are not the same system then as the 10LY you quoted. So is there two seperate game systems for Star trek?

    10xLS? 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 (for 2 to the power of 5) is 32 or 2 x 2 x 2 (for 2 to the power of 3) is 8. Or is my math off? :\

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

Ok we are talking about two seperate things, yes you can not "roll" on a d20 less than 1, why becuase the dice only has a 1. But there is absolutely no reason that the target AC can not be negative, already in d20f, or the firers to hit can not be negative as well, already in d20f. The d20 is...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

3d gives me a head ache and takes too long to move around, so I will be sticking with 2d :D The actual size mean nothing, as you just allow unlimited ships into one square, they just have to make a pilot check if they are actively avioding (thus not shooting that round) then tey don't have to.

man that is one cool site :D Thanks

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

what rule where? and that's my point OK you have a negative AC target, means you can hit it from futher away or with some special move that reduces the to hit etc. The final AC to the tohit is the only real factor that needs to be looked at. And if there is a rule then d20F is not using it...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

if you look at the rules for d20F there are already - to hits and -AC figures for space craft, even with targetting systems added. What is the worry about having -1 AC? It is a short range, no movement, no cover or concealment, no feats such as dodge, no negative attacking feats like burst...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

A targeting systems give bonuses to hit, yes. But it needs to be considered against the entire roll to hit v AC. Thus should a light craft, in d20F, be the same to hit as a SH no it is bigger. Every system that I have seen has a size type mod for larger + creatures. The range of a long bow...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

why is -8 the maximum? I really don't want to talk about the -8 as I have been discussing what happens if a mecha fights a space craft on Wizards and it got quite hot and heated. But OK I will give it a try here and see what others think. surely a larger thing is easier to hit and thus a...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

well yes and no. Yes the GM can say in the end what every they like, after all it is their game. no as the game should have some guidelines in place to help ie every x meters extra a ship is past say 2km it increases size and modifies the size mod etc. I can't beleive a Medium is the same...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

I agree fighters and shuttles still need to exist the problem is up the top end, and done bother saying there is no upper limit to SH because it is a bit of a jump from 500m minimum to 10km.

[d20 Modern/Future] What to do in a first adventure?

depends on the level starting at, at 1st I would not have a gun fight as they will die pretty easily. Having them stepping out of a shuttle or transport tube and having the city before them discribed would be pretty cool though

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

I have done that and have called it Nexus (hopefully no other system is called that :\ ) See my signiture :D It is not just a simple matter of changing some sizes and BOOM it works, you have to consider other factors like mecha or even space obstacles for size mods etc. yer I bought all...

    [Nexus] vehicle generators

I have gotten a pile of generators for vehicles which don't have asome thruster type engines. What do you think? GENERATORS All Space craft with engines have enough power via generators or fuel for 2000hrs of movement time. Each combat round uses 10 minutes of fuel. To build a Space craft...

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

well yes that is very very big as well. I suppose my point is here, why are the ships so small in d20 future. I don't think any campiagn area has them that small.

    [D20 Future] Starship Rules

I would like to apologies for making a broad brush statement about the designers of d20. I can see now after reading the announcement I should not have really brought them into it. :( Aussiegamer
