    Meta-Mechanics Worth Stealing

I like the madness meters and fear/nobility/rage traits from Unknown Armies. Along the same lines, I also like Beliefs and Instincts from the Burning Wheel. Finally, I like the idea of Edge from Marvel SAGA.

Could this be the future format of 4th Edition D&D?

Har har har. No. Descent is not what I want.

Could this be the future format of 4th Edition D&D?

I don't know. The core D&D demographic definitely doesn't bother with forums at all. :P

Could this be the future format of 4th Edition D&D?

Seriously though. This idea reminds me so much of Warhammer Quest, it's not even funny. I would seriously dig D&D heading in this direction. Especially because WQ did the whole "explore dungeon, kill monster, take stuff, roleplay, ale and wench back home, repeat" so perfectly! Even better than...

Could this be the future format of 4th Edition D&D?

    UK. Make me this. NOW.

So when should a publisher ditch d20 and develop their own system?

Sad but true. I know a lot of early adolescent/teenage gamers who could care less what the RPG industry has to offer because the industry is totally out of touch with what they want. These kids are just happy playing thier homebrew Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, //.HACK RPGs and would continue...

Help for running Super Heroes game

I also recommend the Dark Champions material, especially Predators and Hudson City.

Mayfair "Role Aids" products: Favorites? Conversions?

I'm really a fan of the Demons series and Sentinels book.

    New Ruleset?

Interesting idea. Now if only someone would go and make a SRD based on the Warhammer Quest rules... that would really make my day! :D Anyway, good luck to you, Crowking.

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

Thurbane, agreed. This thread is sigh-inducing.

What game best captures "D&D" for you?

I'm a "jump in and play" person, so BD&D. 1st level characters in 3E are not too bad though.

Does 3E/3.5 dictate a certain style of play?

Yes. Like its predecessors, 3E is not a generic fantasy game and it does dictate a certain style of play. One that I enjoy if I might add.

    3 Very Different Campaigns

I like them. But then again, I like the character creation guidelines of the RPGA campaigns and find them admirable for what they set out to do.

    Supplements That Enhance Melee

I am a fan of books that really enhance D&D/d20's melee game (like Book of Iron Might, Iron Heroes, Tome of the Nine Swords). I was wondering if there are (besides the ones aforementioned) any other books that I should check out.

    Starting Up A Campaign

Still running. Still looking. I'd like at least three people. Preferably one cleric, one mage, and one fighter. Rules as as above, with the following exceptions: new players will be entering the game as 4th level characters with 6,000 experience points and 5,700 gold pieces worth of equipment...

    David Noonan on D&D Complexity

Yeah. Dispel Magic and Mord's Disjunction were pretty harmless - it's the buffs, if they are up, that makes thier use distatseful.

Balance - A Thing of the Past?

In 2E, being a two weapon fighting specialist wasn't so bad in comparsion to being a throwing dart grand master. Sheesh, that was crazy. I think being a thri-kreen or a drow made it worse.

Ravenloft: Fun? Scary? Questions for my game.

Ravenloft is fun but compromising the D&D end of things is not the answer at all. Remember that and you should be fine.

    Oriental Adventures Adventures

No. AEG stopped producing Rokugan d20 material a while back. I like it enough to recommend getting the Rokugan book. As for oriental games, it depends on what kind of asian fantasy you want. As for other roleplaying games, if you want japanese fantasy, I would recommend Legend of the Five...

What do you want to see in the fourth Adventure Path?

A horror themed AP would rock. One focused on either dragons or the underdark would also be good. For module tie-ins, either the Lost City or Keep on the Borderlands would be fantastic.
