Is D&D a lifestyle for you?

Gene Rayburn's a small, though important, part of my life. I spend time on him when I can. Wait....

    Lord of the Rings musical?!

Maybe it's a monologue musical--with Nathan Lane as Tom Bombadil or Mandy Patinkin as Treebeard?

What do you do with a cheating player!

Curses! You beat me to it, you salty deck-swabber!

What would you do if you were an evil, cannibalistic, cthulhu worshippping Hobbit?

wow... Never once thought of the Red Book of Westmarch as a Mythos tome... (looks to bookcase at the very same edition) ...and I did always wonder how hobbits could maintain 6-7 meals a day.

Rejoice! [or not]: Simpsons on the Big Screen in 2006

(My personal opinion) I think that assumption comes from the numerous episodes in the last several seasons in which the "cast" bursts into not-very-funny song.

    "Classic" Dragon Articles

Over 20 years, one article that's been of consistent use to me is "A new name? It's elementary!" by Gygax. It provided a name generator using Anglo-Saxon root words. Great stuff!

I Found The Cheapest Place To Buy Rpgs!

As noted above, the overstock.com search engine is quite awful. If you're really intent on searching, your best option is priceowl.com (or my favorite, fetchbook.info). If you want to tough it out, you'll get better results on overstock with a book's ISBN number.

"Well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back..."

Ever seen a little gem called Corvette Summer? I saw it at a drive-in with some of my neighbors when I was 8. It had metallicky hot rods, a prostitute-with-a-heart-of-gold, and Mark Hamill. Ironically enough, it was part of a double-feature that night (with Coma)!

    Best movie nobody's heard of...

Village of the Damned (an early 60s Twilight Zone-ish, low-budget, unusually well done horror/thriller flick). The original (1961) film treatment of Lord of the Flies still gives me the creeps. Another hearty vote for His Girl Friday! ("What does he look like? He looks like ah, that fella in...

"Well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back..."

This film distinguished itself by showing how John Travolta can't play good or evil characters. Oh, and a climactic chase scene that reacquainted me with the laughter I hadn't experienced since They Live...now they're chasing each other with boats! :)

    The new Battlestar

"You maniacs!" Perhaps they'll find Earth, only to discover apes in power and a large statue half-buried in the sand...

    The "Favorite Simpsons Quotes" thread.

(From the "King Homer" episode from one of the Halloween shows) Otto: "Hey, who's this 'Homer' dude?" Burns: "He's either a 50-foot prehistoric ape, or a tourist trap concocted by the Ape Island Jaycees."

Ah, Ralph All the Ralph Wiggum quotes triggered another one... Ralph:"Um, Miss Hoover? There's a dog in the vent." Miss Hoover: "Ralph, remember the time you said you saw Snagglepuss outside?" Ralph:"He was going to the bathroom."
