    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon+ Issue 33 out now!

I mean, it's hard to blame DDB when WotC themselves are less-than-clear about whether changes are errata or not. JC seems to thrive on creating uncertainty

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon+ Issue 33 out now!

Lots of stuff here. Confirmed full Artificer reprint, some new artifact stuff I think I'm most intrigued by how the Class Features Variants UA evolved from the playtest version. I assume some of the BM manuevers ate nerfs and Ranger almost certainly saw tweaks, but what else did they add? More...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

As someone who bought Rising, I'm still happy with my purchase despite the reprints. The year head start of course, but also I skipped both MTG setting books so now I'm getting all four of those subclasses as "new". Furthermore, as a setting book it was always going to concentrate the value in...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

For one, I don't think we actually know the author line up on Tasha's yet - maybe WotC is starting to actually hire freelancers off the guild like they originally suggested they would. From the UA we know these are different designs, but it's entirely possible they're not only using the guild as...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Not a mod or anything but Rygar has spent the entire thread trying to drag it off topic. I think we'd be better off if we collectively ignored them.

D&D General Lovecraft by any other name would smell as sweet...

Eberron as a D&D world builds and expands upon the mythos in 5e by adding the Daelkyr and placing significant unique emphasis upon aberrations in its lore.

D&D 5E (2014) And just like that, no one cares about Frostmaiden any longer

D&D 5e is popular enough they can very very easily get away with at best a 4% conversion ratio. There's what, like 10 million players? That's still 400k sales! Big modules can be relatively niche and still be very successful, as demonstrated by WotC's continued publication. I'm wondering if the...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Eberron pulls from pulp, not high/epic fantasy, for its big moments. There are vile cults to fiendish and aberrant forces, but there's just less of an expectation that the hero is a paladin in shining armor rather than a morally gray tomb robber like Indiana Jones. Incidentally, this makes the...

D&D 5E (2014) And just like that, no one cares about Frostmaiden any longer

To the actual topic - The overwhelming majority of D&D hobbyists run homebrew games of some sort. Only about 30% run in the realms, based on some product surveys. Of that number, I bet not everyone runs the modules. So what, maybe 20% of games are using the modules? By contrast, everyone who...

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Help me Workshop a Campaign Idea - Sora Katra's Goodwill Tour (& Espionage)

So, when considering PR moves it's difficult to mix both - look at how the Quori have ordinary ambassadors who are completely disconnected with the subversive elements of the Dreaming Dark. I would suggest either doing A/B party that they can swap between or just focusing on one of these...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Anyways, while I recognize some people stated Beast of Earth had a swim speed option, I still think it's more likely that they keep simple parallelism and just do different abilities with charge/flyby/??. I think the more interesting question is going to be how many of the new Maneuvers made it...

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

I'd put my money on Beast of Water, to round out Beast of Land and Beast of Air. Especially since the bestial summon from the UA had land/air/water as the options.

They're also redoing Group Patrons, from Eberron. Probably going to get a more thorough rewrite though to make them generic as opposed to setting-specific.

    D&D 5E (2014) The New D&D Book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything!

Poking at Morrus aside, this looks really good but also kinda what I expected - PHB+DMG3/XGTE2 with Tasha as the lead character finalizing all the UA we've been getting, plus a few more things.
