    A Little Challenge

But he cannot damage my black pudding :) Of course the pudding probably cannot get his pseudpods on the solar either, unless the solas attacks it and makes a bunch of puddings. .Ziggy

    A Little Challenge

Pah, I'm pretty sure Cthulhu must be a duelist. Probably Rog7/Ftr3/Duelist10. After all he doesn't wear any armor, so it's important to get that extra AC from somewhere... :) :D .Ziggy P.S: Or maybe alienist ? Something like Wiz10/Ali10 maybe ?

    A Little Challenge

Well, it all depends on how you define those half-XXX templates. The main issue the question of what "half" really means. What happens if a half-dragon breed with a dragon ? Do you then get a 3/4-dragon ? And what happens if a half-dragon (human) breeds with an elf ? Do you then get a 1/4...

    A Little Challenge

RE: My black pudding I forgot the Beast of Xvim (Monsters of Faerun) while we are at it. The most important ablity is that all damage dies will increase one step (d8 to 2d6, d6 to d8). It'll also give it another Hit Dice. In addition it'll give it Frightful Presence (Ex) - making creatures...

    A Little Challenge

For something completely different, I present my: Gargantuan half-celestial, half-dragon (gold), axiomatic black pudding [Based on my CR12 pudding smack from the Sultans of Smack...] I haven't really worked on the character classes on this smack, just went for the forsaker for the SR. This...

Fireball and Web -- good combo?

The boards ate my last post, but Artoomis said it more eloquently anyway :) I agree with his interpretation, but is a more unsure about cold, acid and sonic damage. I guess we'll have to assign a hardness and HP to the web, most spells will continue if they manage to destroy the intervening...

Fireball and Web -- good combo?

Eh, Ooops :o You are perfectly right, just had a little brain failure when I read it. I still think it's reasonable to rule that the cover must give protection against the effect to be counted as cover, e.g. walls do not give cover against etheral attacks, as they do not stop that type of...

Posy is back! Posy's Diary, New and Improved with poll(tm)! Please vote!

Congratulation with the marriage, it's quite a big step in a relationship. I can remember how I felt in those last hectic days before my own marriage, wish you all of luck ! .Ziggy

Fireball and Web -- good combo?

Nope, these bonuses don't work against attacks that "originate or spread out from a point on the other side of the cover". As a fireball will definitely spread through the whole web (if placed properly), the cover bonus does not apply in this case. .Ziggy

Spells that can be beneficialy "Enlarged"

Yes and no :) They are emanation spells, and thus work with widen. But the area of globes are defined by their range, thus enlarge work on globes as well. The magic circles are touch spells, and thus seem to be unaffected by enlage, that was an error. .Ziggy

Spells that can be beneficialy "Enlarged"

The "best" spells to enlarge (apart from getting the extra range)are: 1. Lightning bolt (getting a wide bolt at full range, or double range with a nornal bolt) 2. Magic circle against xxx (20' radius will cover most of your allies) 3. Minor Globe of Invulnerability (same as above, but don't...

    Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion

Re: Re: Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion This is an idea, but then I'll have to change the druid quite a bit, I'm not really sure if it still within the parameters of what I want. But it's an excellent idea for doing it within the rules :) It's really large, on my battlemap is is 10'x20'...

    Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion

Re: Re: Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion Probably, I just didn't notice it before :) Oops  But I think the Winderrider option might be a reasonable way around this, se my other post. .Ziggy

    Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion

Thanks for the help, I didn't notice this section in MoW. It's going to be hard to get the Animal Handling high enough, but what I think I'll do is to say that he has trained it from it was small. Then the DC gets more reasonable, and within the bounds for a 8th level druid. It stretching the...

    Controlling a Monstrous Scorpion

Hi! I've got this beautiful miniature of a huge monstrous scorpion with an orc rider that I want to use in my campaign. But when I looked for explanations for how the rider managed to control to scorpion within the rules, I was totally stumped. It's not a beast or animal, so animal...

Who was your first RPG Charcater and what ever happened to him/her

Vain the magic user (Basic D&D), back in 1984 or '85. He almost got trampled by a dinosaur once (Isle of Dread ?), but I'm pretty sure I retired him at 7th or 8th level (the campaign died). My first character where I still got the charachtersheet is Xavier d'Castello, a human cavalier with...

Help ! How can I challenge the Druid ?...

Hi again! Lots of good ides from other posters here, just want to build on a few points already postes by others: - Make him the frontline fighter . This is the most basic, but also the most effective tactic. None of the other characters are any good in hand to hand, so logically, the druid...

Help ! How can I challenge the Druid ?...

It somewhat hard to give specific advice without more details, but here are some ideas: - Design encounters where the abilities of the arcane casters shine. If they can fly (as they should), design an encounter where staying on the ground is very dangerous (but not deadly - at least if you...

    Favorite Beer & Pretzels Game?

It's a "city builder" game where you build small (and somewhat larger) cities, roads and monastries from random tiles. Points are scored both during the game and at the end. A pretty good game, good balance between short-term and long-term strategies, and no sure-win strategy (at least we have...
