    Underwater creatures, HELP!

We should use the one we have now, we don't want to leech too too much :)

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

WOW! I guess Sea Anemone's are NOT plants! Egads, do we make them animals now? Vermin since they have no int? Thought we were going to have the poison do Str and Dex damage? Do you think straight Dex dmg is ok? The poison affects the nervous and muscular systems so both stats might be needed...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Ooo! Yeah yeah, that works! Since they do not have eyes, do we give them some sort of blindsense or tremorsense?

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Perhaps Str 13, Dex 9, Con 15, Int 1 or --, Wis 8, Cha 1 Perhaps tremeorsense or blindsense? Using the Tendriculous (huge plant) from 3.5 MM as a basis we could use the following below. Since large-sized creatures can be up to 16ft, and medium size goes up to just near 8ft, I came up with the...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Do plants get skills? Not sure what kind of skills a sea anemone would get since they have little to no intelligence. Also, since they have no eyes per say, perhaps skills in Listen and blindsense of 30 ft perhaps or some ability to sense prey in their tentacles? For feats, seeing that Sea...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Well in real life, the sea anemone is classified as a flower (plant).

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Time for one more? This one a little more challenging. Plant? or a Vermin? I see improved grab, DEX poison, swallow whole ability, just a whole slew of unholy goodness for the DM. :) Dragon Magazine #116, Pages 41-42 SEA ANEMONE, GIANT FREQUENCY: Rare NO. APPEARING: 1 or 50-200 ARMOR CLASS: 10...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Alertness works. I do not see any other feat that could apply to it (not up to par on my sawfish lore). Unless instead of alertness (are they that alert to their environment?) and give them weapon focus with the snout for the extra +1 to attack.

Some Excellent reading: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/gallery/descript/STsawfish/STSawfish.html http://www.hometown.aol.com/nokogiri/page2.html 2 ranks in Hide, Spot, and Search sound on target to me. As for weight, up to 660lbs weight!?? ouch! Name: Smalltooth Sawfish (Pristis pectinata)...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Yup. I just used the flyby attack and changed a few words and prereq. Made sense that there should have been a swimby attack feat for sea creatures such as this.

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Since Improved Critical as a bonus feat, how about a feat to account that it moves and slides its saw blade from side to side rapidly. Isn't there some kind of move-based feat or something? Or we could make our own: Swimby Attack [GENERAL] Prerequisite: Swim speed of 40 feet or more. Benefit...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

flavor text Combat Sawfishes are very lethargic animals, spending much of their day nestled in the muddy sea/river floor. At night, they scull slowly through the shallows, using their sensitive saw to find buried prey, which are then raked from the sediment to be consumed. It is useful to view...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

For an update for Swordfish and Sawfish The swordfish first appeared in 1st edition Monster Manual II, p. 117. The sawfish first appeared in Dragon Magazine #116, p. 42.

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

I am thinking dex 12-13. Sharks are alot more agile and streamlined than the Sawfish. They kind of just swim along. Other than that the stats look good. Maybe less Str (15-16) since sharks are also killing machines with inhuman strength. Improved crit for sawbill?

We got banned from a house!

Hey at least it was imaginary lightning bolts (did she tell the pre-schoolers what their DC for the save was?)! Me and my son use to watch X-Men Evolution all the time (and superman, batman, etc all those awesome superhero cartoons). In his pre-school class he poked one of his classmates in the...

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Looks great Shade! I would have given them a racial bonus on Jump (to count for leaping), but that is just me. What's next? Is sirine or nerid in any books to date (I have not been able to find d20 sources for these) for d20? Shall I post stats?

Ok, that sounds like an awesome idea about a blurb on variants. Like Wotc did for Dolphins under the Purpoises section.

    Brain Collector

Wow! Well coat me in a floury batter and bake me all crispy. There it is, right in the epic book, page 206. Shame it is an epic monster, I think it is a tade out of reach of my 7th level players.

    Underwater creatures, HELP!

Some intresting facts about Swordfish (nothing about their speed and leaping distances however). I did read that they are related to sailfish and the marlin (sailfish being the faster of the species). http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Gallery/Descript/Swordfish/Swordfish.html
