    Healing out of combat

Resting 5 minutes restores encounter powers. Where is the ambiguity?

Wizard Spells 10-16 Two Page Spread

Not that I feel it's a problem, but they can jump 5 squares, so 25 feet, more on a diagonal. :p

D&D 4E The 4e human racial package: what we know

My understanding was that feats wouldn't grant new mechanics to a class but instead build on those already in place. The feats we've seen so far are clearly improvements over their 3.x analogs.

    It's a solution without a problem.

Wizard Spells 10-16 Two Page Spread

Provided you're willing to wait, potentially a very long time. It presents the trapped creature with different considerations: bust out and take a lot of damage while doing so, or wait until either the wizard drops concentration or allies come to the trapped entity's aid.

Wizard Spells 10-16 Two Page Spread

Let us know how it goes when the paladin issues you a Divine Challenge right before the wizard traps you in the sphere. :D

Skamos Redmoon, the Pathetic Tiefling Wizard

I have to agree. Aside from sleep his spells don't have any interesting side effects. It seems that it was due to spell selection. We can see from the warlocks ray of frost that he could have been made a little more interesting. They wanted a warmage for the demo and they got one.

    Warlords at D&D XP?

Way too logical without a hint of conspiratorial cover up. Lies. ;)

Wizard Spells 10-16 Two Page Spread

Aside from mirror image, the spread is reassuring. Happy as a clam now that a wizard can toss up resistance to shut down radiant paladin marking.

    Ranger vs Warlock

Love eyebite. Speaking of which, I've seen the concealment 11 rule. Anyone seen a comparable rule for vanilla concealment? The initial report was that concealment gave enemies a -2 to hit you and total concealment gave them a -5, but concealment 11 throws some doubt on to that report.

    Ranger vs Warlock

I think I missed this a couple of times while test running 4e. One oddity is that an unarmored rogue could have a higher reflex defense than AC due to the base bump to reflex the class gets. :D

    D&D 4E Rob Heinsoo on 4E PHB

Heinsoo did seem to indicate that these replacements would be wholly superior to the older versions. Perhaps that's marketing speak, but then again he is the mechanics guy.

    D&D 4E Rob Heinsoo on 4E PHB

Good point. I suppose that if they did want to sub out some of the powers for other abilities, it would make an odd sort of sense to do it on back to back levels. That way the attack and utility features remain balanced. The gap at 14 is curious.

    Ranger vs Warlock

Eldritch blast targets reflex, so you're comparing apples and oranges. The two classes seem fairly distinct even with the common role.

    At-Will Power Progression

Especially when compared to the 1st level rogue "at wills" which get a relatively modest bump at 21st level.

11th and 12th level and then nothing for 4 levels? That doesn't sound right.
