The advantages/disadvantages of making an 'untouchable'?

Could you describe how this makes them ineffective?

What does 'Co-ordinated Shot' from Heros of Battle do?

I have been known to make some exceptions. :) The improved IUS feat in BO9S is one of them. ;)

    Security Guard Duty

If you have the time, and your patron has the cash, rebuild the doorframes as Geas portals (casts a geas of 'you will do no harm in [name the estate]'). Leave a true seeing at these door to catch critters/people with an SR, than start focusing on other avenues of approach (windows, eatheiral, etc).

The advantages/disadvantages of making an 'untouchable'?

I've been reading the Eisenhorn book series (WH40K) who employees untouchables, people immune to psycher abilities (their version of magic). What would be the effects of creating PC's and/or NPC's that are effectively walking AMFs?

What does 'Co-ordinated Shot' from Heros of Battle do?

Pretty much what it says in the title. A player wants to take it but it's in Heros of Battle. The current rule is no using books I don't bring to the table, this beibg one I don't own.

Immovable rod in a sword hilt? Can you do it

I thought the energy effects only work if the weapon is in hand?

Do Magic Item "Shops" wreck the spirit of D&D?

I'd have to agree with this sentiment. It's why I went to various OGL rules (IK magic item creation rules and Spycraft blackmarket tables especially).

New job opportunities in a magic using world...

I've been trying to think of new occupations (legal ones :) ) that would have been created with the advent of magic. Unfotunately, I don't always think big enough. IMC, dwarves have an enhanced gravity sense, so they control navigation and teleport trades. Makes the Wayfarer PrC a viable NPC...

Just for some balance, what were some of your happier moments in a game.

Pretty much what the title says. What are some of your happier moments in the game, times when players redeemed themsleves, etc.

Ever had a player in your group throw a tantrum or worse? Most uncomfortable moment?

I've been tempted to buy giant fuzzy dice, just for this reason. 'DM PUNISHMENT!!!!' *flumph*

Ever had a player in your group throw a tantrum or worse? Most uncomfortable moment?

Here's one: My players asked if another person could join. They said that he was looking for a group at school but couldn't find any. I said okay, and asked them to have him give me a call. He called me, asked some questions and the like. I explained the rules: you have to be okayed by the...

Ever had a player in your group throw a tantrum or worse? Most uncomfortable moment?

Not sure this counts, but myself and one of my players get into it via passive/aggressive nastiness on occasion. We're cordial at the game, but our arguements on our yahoo page can go on for awhile.

Banning Fly, Improved Invisibility, Dimension Door, and Teleport

Tell that to Iron Kingdoms. No resurrection or true res. Raise dead was boosted to 9th level. Spells that span into other dimensions are also rarer.

    Idea for ammo depletion

I'm more concerned that there are odds of being out after two shots when you just left the village. It should be rare, but there's always that one unlucky player... My suggestion (thanks hong for the inspiration): 2d6 after a fight. Rolling a 2 means your out. Add one for every day haven't...

Banning Fly, Improved Invisibility, Dimension Door, and Teleport

I don't think it will break the game, but you may have to adjust time tables. Certain 'quick hops' won't be anymore. Give them more time to get there. Also remeber that if they spells aren't available, magic items with similar effects most likely won't be either. Adjust your treasure or...

Where's my HR manager? or "How Leadership nerfs Power Attack"

I kept the rule (a logistical nightmare otherwise), but changed the fluff. As you gain higher level followers, some of your lower level followers can get promoted. They've been with you long enough to learn more tricks of their trade. New followers come and fill in the gaps left when the older...

Leadership - DM's how do you handle Cohorts and Followers?

    1) Players design it themselves. 2) Same as characters (4d6, take the best three, assign as you will. Rolls must be observed by me). 3) Same available classes as the players. 4) General combination. The player generally controls the NPC, but I reserve the right to say 'would you do that in...

Where's my HR manager? or "How Leadership nerfs Power Attack"

It'll get expensive, but one method is figuring out how much to pay via their Profession skill. Make one skill check for a given level, figure out the coinage earned, and multiply it by the number of folks in said level. Base pay gives a base loyalty. More pay equals greater loyalty. You don't...
