    D&D 5E (2014) ORCUS to 5th?

I am surprised Frog God Games aka Necromancer Games hasn't put out a 5th edition version yet, after all he is like their mascot. Maybe we can convince them to put up something as a freebie pdf.

    D&D 5E (2014) Gaining Experience

My group can burn through most pathfinder adventure path issues in a single month, maybe a little longer once they get higher level or if there is a huge dungeon crawl.

D&D 5E (2014) Hit Point Recovery Too Generous

Hit points are ambiguous they represent all kinds of things like luck, skill, fatigue, divine intervention, and yes physical injury. But since you can fight, run, climb, swim, dance, and host a fancy party all at 1 h.p and not be at any penalties obviously the physical injury part is very...

D&D 5E (2014) Hit Point Recovery Too Generous

I don't but I am sure there are some. Just wanted to correct that in fact you can spend any number of hit dice after a short rest. A character can spend one or more Hit Dice at the end of a short rest, up to the character’s maximum number of Hit Dice, which is equal to the character’s level...

    D&D 5E (2014) What's the point of gold?

That is a perfectly fine house rule when running 3e/Pathfinder but it is not the rules as written in the book. By the book in large cities you could find almost any magic item for sale.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rounding Down - Minimum Damage

No you would do a minimum of 1 damage.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's the point of gold?

That is odd, since with the way purchasing magic items works in 3e/Pathfinder you would imagine everyone would make sure the had all that stuff all on their own. Not to mention in every published adventure I have seen mid level humanoids had these things falling off of them in droves, I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rounding Down - Minimum Damage

There is no minimum in 5e everything rounds down unless otherwise stated. This is in obvious need for errata in some instances like regaining HD during a long rest, as it sits now if you have only 1 HD and spend it during a long rest you wouldn't regain any HD ever. Now Mr. Mearls has said that...

D&D 5E (2014) Druids + necromancy: Help me make it make sense!

These druids just take recycling to its logical conclusion. Those are not undead bears and wolves guarding the druid grove those are recycled bears and wolves. Undead shambling mound in the compost heap, skeletal minions of former lumberjacks armed with axes, all kinds of evil druidic things...

D&D 5E (2014) Knock Unconscious and Massive Damage

Or just chop, slash, stab them and take them down to 0 h.p like the rules say you can, and call it knocking them out. Gregor the half orc barbarian using great weapon master and reckless attacking while raging and wielding a magical vicious greataxe ,crits doing 3d12+22 damage to a guard npc...

    D&D 5E (2014) Gaining Experience

Every 3 sessions or so, don't bother keeping track of xp or individual xp. Random encounters are pointless unless used to spice things up or disrupt excessive short rests, but those don't have to be random just encounters not relevant to the current story. When the game is about grinding...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you decide which Races to disallow (and/or Classes)?

I wouldn't disallow things just because they were not in an older edition player's handbook. There were plenty of variant classes and races that popped up in dragon magazines and supplements to all those old settings. What you want to do is decide what kind of story do you want to tell. In...

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell-less Ranger

If you are open to using other game systems like the upcoming Conan one, I suggest you check out Barbarians of Lemuria they recently came out with a new edition and the book has great art and the system is pretty cool. http://barbariansoflemuria.webs.com/

D&D 5E (2014) Would you allow this if you were the DM

Bracers of armor add a +2 to your AC so it does work. Mage armor spell sets your AC to 13+dex so it doesn't.

D&D 5E (2014) Knock Unconscious and Massive Damage

You are right, I was thinking of the 4e rules which included any type of attack.

D&D 5E (2014) Knock Unconscious and Massive Damage

You can fireball a group of peasants into unconsciousness, or meteor storm them if you wish so I have no issues with someone wanting to assassinate sneak attack them with an arrow into unconsciousness.

D&D 5E (2014) Party optimisation vs Character optimisation

It says no such thing. What it does say is. "Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls." Ranged attack rolls, which EB is just like any other ranged spell that is not resisted with a saving throw.

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell-less Ranger

I would just multiclass fighter/rogue. Fighter gets you archery style, go battlemaster for arrow tricks, and rogue gets you damage boost with sneak attack, cunning action for mobility, and expertise so you can excel in survival and perception checks.

Paladins didn't receive any new spells either.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you allow this if you were the DM

Yes but it is not an unarmed strike or a monk weapon.
