I don't get the hate (too strong? derision, maybe) some people have for premium products. I guess there is some level of FOMO, but it literally costs you nothing if you choose not to buy it.

There is no entry fee to submit products to the ENnie Awards apart from actually sending the products one wants to enter to the judges. Neither WotC nor Paizo chose to enter this year. Strongholds and Followers was not submitted.

I usually use the average in the stat block. The only time I don't when I'm feeling fairly confident the PCs will completely obliterate that monster and I want them to have a bit more of a challenge (usually only for climatic battles). In those cases, I'll just bump it up to max HP.
