    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

No movement before or after is a heavy penalty to pay, especially for a class that relies on movement and positioning. Most enemies will move to get cover (full cover if possible) or move to get within melee range of your Rogue (thereby canceling the advantage the Rogue would get with steady...

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

5th level is when every class other than Rogue gets a major bump in combat ability. Martials get multiple attacks, caster get 3rd level spells and 2x cantrips etc. Stunning strike falls right in line with this. In 3e it was first level, but it was only once or twice a day at first level...

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

Steady aim is not that powerful because it stops all movement that turn and it uses a bonus action that Rogues could use effectively for something else. Really in terms of DPR, using steady aim is strictly inferior to simply using your BA for two weapon fighting and it stops your movement to boot.

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

Claiming it is boring because it is used a lot is not rational either, especially when features for other classes, which are used more often are not considered boring.

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

I've been playing 5e for 5 years and have not found stunning strike to be a problem at all. Also, this logic again can be used for anything - Sneak attack is so overpowered other uses of actions (shove, grapple, search and at low levels hide and disengage) don't compare well

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

I completely disagree and Monks have been all about stunning attacks since 3e. That is their core feature and it is not IMO boring at all. I think 6E is a long way off and I think Monk will keep stunning strike in 6E. I don't think they will nerf the ability at all although they may make more...

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

There is no difference here. For most Monks, stunning strike is their main combat feature and really their main source of damage and if they are a melee character it is explicitly what they are about in combat after level 5 and they upgrade it continuously through higher save DC and more Ki...

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

No it has nothing at all to do with the PC being blind, it is because the description of the spell says "a target you can see" or the action reaction says an enemy that you can see. That applies regardless of the reason you can not be seen and it is specifically seperate from the blinded...

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

The targetable location is a 5x5 area, which is pretty general and that does not eliminate disadvantage. Echolocation is essentially blindsight, which means there would be no disadvantage. Further there are two conditions to consider as these would explicitly apply to this situation: 1...

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

I find this argument weak. You could say the same about a Rogue's sneak attack or a GWM/PAM fighter being boring. Monk's in my experience are the least boring non-caster in combat.

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

Monks can take sharpshooter -5/+10 feats and use a short bow or crossbow using dedicated weapon or a Kensai with a longbow. Depending on your DM, this can also be used with thrown weapons like daggers or spears. This works really well as a Kensei with a long bow when combined with stunning...

    D&D 5E (2014) Comparing Monk DPR

THIS!!! Further if a Monk lands stunning blow on his first attack of the turn, all subsequent attacks against that creature by the monk that turn, all attacks by allies that round and all the monks attacks the next turn ALL have advantage. That means 1 stunning strike and a 6th level Monk can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

Absolutely it does. RAW, hidden means [an individual target] is unseen and unheard. If an individual target is not "hidden" it is not unseen and unheard. If it is unseen because of invisibility or blindness or other complete obscuration then it is still heard unless it takes an action to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

I have been playing 5E for 5 years and I have seen inspiration given about 5 times at my table. You are suggesting inspiration every turn?

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

Despite being blind I would keep the sunlight sensitivity for this race as well as Duergar. There is no reason that would not be the case just because he is blind. If I was DM I would let a player get rid of sunlight sensitivty only for a Drow only if they used the custom lineage.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with optimizers at the table

This is so true. This seems OP in a whiteroom, but not so much in actual play. To start with you need to use a reaction every time you teleport, meaning a character is only going to be able to do that once per turn. You are using channel divinity and another limited-use feature and you need...
