    LOL! Great post Zappo. :)

    Druid feat selection?

The Scent thing is kind of part of the character concept at this point. Wouldn't want to get rid of it even though I DO plan on getting Blindsight eventually. As for Spellcasting Prodigy, it's kind of a must have in our group. Though no one will out and out admit it, we're as close to...

    Druid feat selection?

I'm curious as to what some of the longtime druid players on the boards have chosen for feats with their characters. I'm currently playing in the Forgotten Realms, and we're using most of the splatbooks. Here's what I have currently: Spellcasting Prodigy Natural Spell Spell Focus: Evocation...

Is there a limit in Wildshape healing effect?

Ah... didn't think about the Animal Lord. Good catch Orco. Actually as a 10th level Shifter (which is where you gain the ability to shift an unlimited number of times per day) there are very few things you CAN NOT shift into. However, as Orco mentioned, Animal Lord gets the ability to shift...

Is there a limit in Wildshape healing effect?

Exactly, which is why the errata that limits the number of times a day is just plain silly.

Need some help here. DM wackiness in action

I would have agreed with his ruling on those spells. Though having the fire spread due to the water is a real stretch. If I was him, I would also have taken into consideration the fact that the area was now wet and less likely to catch fire, but it sounds like his plot was based on this...

Excersise in AC (Help the Two-Handed Fighter)

Behind straight up bonuses to your current armor, an animated shield is the best bang for your buck for AC. Sure, it might cost 9k instead of 8k for the +2 to start with, but once you take it to +3 AC (total cost 16k) compared to a +3 nat armor bonus (total cost 18K) you start to see the...

    Ideal Party Make-up.

I think I would agree with Wolfen Priest for the most part. 2 Clerics, 2 Fighters, a Rogue and a Mage. However, I personally find DnD more enjoyable with 4-5 players... 6 starts to get unwieldy (again... in my opinion). So for a 4 person party, it's pretty easy. :) You can sub a Paladin or...

    Save the world? No thanks.

Hehe... good point Johno. :) Actually, Morose is a play on my name.... M. Rose. The actual meaning of the word really doesn't fit my personality... but I liked the word play. :) I'm actually a pretty darn happy guy. ;)

    Save the world? No thanks.

Awesome post. Thanks for the insights Furn. Edit: I'm actually going to copy and paste this post into an email for the DM of my current campaign. Thanks again for taking the time to detail your position and ideas for motivations so thoroughly.

    Save the world? No thanks.

Those are some excellent ideas willpax. I particularly like the idea of the journey home. I hope you don't mind if I swipe it for the Neverwinter Nights campaign I'm just getting started on. :)

Aye. Same is true for almost every artist out there, even the great ones. Though some still stick to producing only "butt-nuggets" as it were. ;)

    Mapping Programs

    The old standby is Campaign Cartographer. It has a bit of a learning curve, but is quite powerful. Honestly I'm not aware of any other mapping software out there... but I'm sure there is an alternative of some kind. Edit: remind me to refresh the thread before I post next time. :;

    Save the world? No thanks.

Sit in judgement? Come on man. I posted a thread asking for input and making suggestions. That's what a discussion board is for. If you didn't like my tone, too bad. I've already shown that I'm willing to listen... I took what others have said and gave it legitimate thought. Even stated I...

    Save the world? No thanks.

Tom- I have the same favored range. Especially the 7th-13th range. After you get enough options as a character to tackle things in a multitude of ways, but before your options get too unwieldy. Played in a campaign for a couple years that ended up with most of us being 19th level and the last...

    Save the world? No thanks.

That's my point exactly BButler! Keeping things on a small scale: "(At least the little portion that I can get my hands on.)" keeps things more personal and interesting... at least for me. That's all I really meant.

    Save the world? No thanks.

Tom Cashel- As I make mention of in my last post to Umbran, I was mostly referring to the type of game where the goal is to become more and more powerful to the point where the only real challenge (or supposed motivation for becoming so powerful in the first place) is to save the world from some...

    Save the world? No thanks.

Umbran- you bring up some very good points. It's apparent that I was guilty of some stereotyping myself. You bring up several twists that could keep such a campaign interesting. I guess I was mostly thinking of the proliferation of the seemingly MMORPG inspired "gain levels, get items, become...
