What are you reading in 2025?

Cool. I have the ebooks for it and will pick it up soon. I wanted a change after the 7 book epic. I was surprised I had not known about the series when it came out, but it was a happy discovery.

What are you reading in 2025?

I just finished the following series. Saga of the Seven Suns by Kevin Anderson. It was a good space opera with some interesting characters. Deed of Paksennarion by Elizabeth Moon. I re-read it after the Paksworld announcement. World Quake by Mark Hobson, an epic disaster trilogy that had the...

What are you reading in 2025?

On purpose. I do not pay attention to all the culture war mess on the internet. I stopped participating in it around 2012ish when my son was born. I notice that it has made so many people and friends bitter and unhappy. The only way to win is not to play at all.

What are you reading in 2025?

People on ENW really focus on this one. The only place I have heard about this sad puppy mess is on this site.

D&D 5E (2024) Anyone else dislike the "keyword" style language of 5.24?

A friend has been running 5.5 and I see no improvement from 5e to 5.5 in terms of language or rules understanding. We are using DDB as well and we have not seen any improvement. The tightening of the language has not improved the understanding of the rules at the table and the organization is...

He admitted he was slowing down and I get it. The man should retire. I wish he had not allowed the publisher to continue Shannara. Dawson is ok, but she is not Brooks. I will just consider the world done now.

What are you reading in 2025?

On another note, where are folks buying ebooks now? I refuse to continue with Amazon now that they removed the ability for me to archive my books.

What are you reading in 2025?

I read a wide range of authors. It is not other voices but everything looking and sounding identical. I am not a fan of romance novels so I am going to stay away from them. The books are fine to have romance in them but I do not consider that a "romance" novel. The Wheel of Time books just look...

What are you reading in 2025?

I went to B&N a few weeks ago. It was littered with labels like “as seen on booktok.” I met a guy browsing books and he was really struggling and I just mentioned that I was finding it difficult to find material too. He was in his 20s and there was virtually nothing that was not romantasy or...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

I hope so. I buy a lot of physical books.

What Game Publishers Are Saying About The Tariffs

Well, this may cut down on the cards and dice for kickstarters. Honestly, I'd prefer more books or adventures (content) so it will be cool if we get fewer of the "you have to take all this extra stuff to get the tier with the books you want."

Ghostfire Gaming: A Question about Reliability

Has anyone had experience with Ghostfire Games? I had never ordered from them and I decided to try Grim Hollow and DrakenHeim. I ordered the book in March 2024 along with Aetherial Expanse. They never stated that the entire order would be on hold until Aetherial released. I got a shipment...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

We just started playing again too. I was thinking about trying to get a virtual EN Game day running to get the old CM crowd back together. @Alenda misses running Halfling Musketeers.

Good to see you, nerf. I did not think you still posted on ENW.

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

To be fair, Europe has had tariffs on US goods for years that increased the prices. I do not agree with what is happening but it is not like other countries do not use tariffs or VAT which also acts as a backdoor tariff.

Paksworld RPG Based On Elizabeth Moon's Novels

It is clear from her novels that she played D&D. In the early days of the internet, people were producing fan-made IP content and authors like Moon, McCaffrey, and Lackey were very protective of their IP and feared that having an RPG produced would allow people to steal or erode it. I am happy...

    D&D 5E (2024) How D&D Beyond Will Handle Access To 2014 Rules

Windows 11 is only 30% of the market. People are staying on 10 because 11 is garbage.
